The collection of more than 50 items, created in a uniquely Target way, features beloved Disney Princess and Marvel characters with signature modern and playful designs for which the retailer’s stylish kids home owned brand, Pillowfort, is known for.

The Disney Collection by Pillowfort

“The addition of the Disney Princess and Marvel collections into our Pillowfort line combines the power of two brands consumers love to create real joy at an incredible value for their families,” said Jill Sando, Target’s Executive Vice President and Chief Merchandising Officer of Apparel & Accessories, Home and Hardlines. “In this only-at-Target collection, we’re bringing the magic of Disney Princess characters and Marvel Super Heroes to kids’ bedding and decor in a totally Target way — delivering incredible design and quality products that parents can trust, at amazing prices they won’t find anywhere else. The Disney and Marvel collections for Pillowfort

Launched in 2016, Pillowfort offers hundreds of affordable mix-and-match pieces that help families create inspiring spaces that will last and grow with their child. The Disney Princess and Marvel collections expand on this purpose with more than 50 whimsical, charming kids’ bedding and decor items — with most under $30.

The assortment of character-inspired hooded blankets ($25), figural dolls and pillows ($20), plus sheet sets, quilts and even glow-in-the-dark comforters (all under $65) come in soft colors with a contemporary, storybook feel. The inclusive range of characters include Disney princesses like Ariel, Belle, Cinderella, Moana and Tiana, as well as Marvel Super Heroes such as Black Panther, Captain America, Hulk, Iron Man and Spider-Man.

The Disney and Marvel collections were designed with fun and function top of mind. Products feature quality materials and thoughtful details like pillows that do double duty as make-believe play accessories — for example, a child can put their own hand inside the pillow shaped like the Hulk’s fist for fun pretend play, and the blankets feature hoods that mimic the character’s head or hair, to make the child feel like their favorite Disney Princess character or Marvel Super Hero.

The full assortment is now available on Target.com and will be available in Target stores beginning in late April.

Target’s owned brand strategy

Target’s roster features more than 40 owned brands that generate more than $30 billion in annual sales. All of Target’s owned brands benefit from the retailer’s industry-leading product design team, with a guest-centric focus that combines quality materials, thoughtful details and consumer-obsessed design at an incredible value. The retailer is continually evolving its product assortment to meet consumers’ wants and needs and saw an opportunity with Pillowfort for exclusive kids’ bedding collections that pay homage to Disney and Marvel characters. This is the first of three collections with Disney in 2025, with upcoming Cat & Jack and Cloud Island kids and baby apparel and accessories collections.

Target’s years-long relationship with Disney

Target and Disney have a creative, years-long relationship that has brought magic to Target shoppers. A few examples include the Disney store at Target, a “shop-in-shop” in-store and online experience that brings Disney toys, games, apparel and accessories to Target shoppers; a collaboration with Marvel Studios’ “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever;” and the Disney100 Retro Reimagined collection — an exclusive, limited-time collection of retro Disney toys and other products, in celebration of Disney’s 100th anniversary in 2024.

The American Medical Manufacturers Association (AMMA) Releases Its 2025 Federal Policy Priorities

WASHINGTON — February 21, 2025 — The American Medical Manufacturers Association (AMMA) is committed to ensuring the resilience of America’s healthcare supply chain by advocating for policies that bolster domestic medical manufacturing.

Goal: Strengthening America’s Critical Medical Supply Chain

In 2025, AMMA’s Federal Policy Priorities with the new Presidential Administration and 119th Congress focus on targeted trade enforcement, strategic government procurement, and legislative action to protect and grow America’s capacity to produce critical medical supplies and personal protective equipment (PPE).

Targeted Trade Enforcement: Combating Unfair Competition

AMMA supports a strategic approach to trade policy that safeguards domestic manufacturers and prevents market distortions caused by unfair foreign competition. Key trade priorities include:

  • Targeted Tariffs & De Minimis Loophole Closure – AMMA supports targeted tariffs that protect domestic manufacturers from unsafe and subsidized products from China.  Broad-based healthcare tariffs could lead to higher expenses for U.S. patients and providers.
  • Preventing a “China 2.0” Scenario – AMMA calls for vigilance against Southeast Asian nations with weak labor, non-democratic governance, and poor environmental standards that could replicate China’s unfair trade practices.
  • Stopping Dumped Products & Transshipment Schemes – AMMA urges more vigorous enforcement against illegally underpriced imports that undermine U.S. manufacturing and threaten supply chains.

Government Procurement: Strengthening the Strategic National Stockpile

To modernize the Strategic National Stockpile (SNS) and ensure rapid, reliable access to medical supplies during emergencies, AMMA recommends:

  • Implementing a Vendor-Managed Inventory system to maintain surge capacity within domestic production facilities.
  • Shifting from a warehouse-centric model to a dynamic rotation-based system that prevents waste from expired products.
  • Establishing long-term contracts with domestic manufacturers to sustain production capabilities and readiness.
  • Creating financial incentives for manufacturers to maintain excess production capacity, ensuring rapid response during crises.

Make PPE in America Act: Strengthening Domestic Procurement

AMMA advocates for full implementation of the Make PPE in America Act, which mandates that federal agencies purchase domestically manufactured PPE and medical supplies. To reinforce this commitment, AMMA proposes:

  • Requiring DHS, VA, and HHS to issue clear regulations enforcing the law.
  • Strengthening oversight under the Made in America Initiative (MAIO) to ensure procurement waivers are granted only under extraordinary circumstances.
  • Ensuring consistent enforcement of domestic procurement requirements across all federal agencies to create a stable market for U.S. manufacturers.

Enhancing CMS Procurement Programs

AMMA supports expanding domestic preference initiatives under the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) by:

  • Developing standardized language for domestic preference policies to ensure consistency.
  • Expanding the CY 2025 OPPS/IPPS domestic preference model to include additional critical medical supplies such as gloves, gowns, needles, and syringes.
  • Creating payment adjustments that account for the higher costs associated with domestic manufacturing will ensure a level playing field for U.S. producers.

Legislative Advocacy: Protecting U.S. Medical Manufacturing

AMMA backs key legislative efforts to strengthen domestic medical manufacturing, including:

  • Restoring Trade Fairness Act – A bipartisan bill that revokes China’s preferential trade status and imposes higher tariffs to shield U.S. manufacturers from unfair competition.
  • Expanding R&D Tax Credits – Supporting domestic innovation by making research and development tax credits permanent.
  • Extending Provisions from the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act – Making the 100% bonus depreciation and Section 199A pass-through deduction permanent to encourage investment in domestic production.

AMMA’s Executive Director, Eric Axel, said, “By advocating for these critical policy changes, AMMA is working to fortify America’s critical medical supply chain, protect domestic manufacturers from unfair competition, and ensure that the nation’s healthcare system remains resilient. With targeted trade policies, strategic government procurement, and strong legislative action, the U.S. can reduce its reliance on foreign suppliers and build a sustainable, high-quality medical manufacturing industry at home.”

The 56th Edition Of Texworld Apparel Sourcing Paris Is In The Books: More Than 8,500 Visitors And 1,250 Exhibitors

PARIS —  February 21, 2025 — The 56th edition of Texworld Apparel Sourcing Paris took place in a particularly dynamic atmosphere. More than 8,500 international visitors discovered and made business connection with the 1,250 exhibitors from 32 countries over three days at the Paris-Le Bourget Exhibition Centre.

Texworld Apparel Sourcing Paris, Europe’s biggest marketplace for fashion textiles and clothing, has confirmed its position as the leading global fashion platform for mid-range segment buyers and suppliers. Held from February 10-12, 2025, at the Paris – Le Bourget Exhibition Centre, the new edition attracted more than 8,500 visitors, a 10-percent increase compared to the February 2024 edition.

Paris as an unmissable global sourcing destination for fashion buyers

This Parisian event has established itself as an unmissable contact point for designers, buyers and suppliers of fabrics and finished products. It also confirms the importance of Europe for the global fashion industry, with the Top 5 visitors coming from France, the UK, Italy, Spain and Germany. After a few years of adjustment, many international buyers returned to Paris, with international participation on the rise. The grand return of international buyers to Paris, while French buyers remains stable, shows the resilience of Paris in an increasingly volatile fashion market.

Meeting market expectations

“The global market, beyond the general geo-politico-commercial situation, is still undergoing a major metamorphosis, with a gradual shift from the entry-level segments of the past towards a more qualitative offering, which now accounts for the bulk of global clothing consumption, points out Julien Schmoll, Marketing and Communications director at Messe Frankfurt France. We’ve redesigned our trade fairs to meet the needs of buyers in these mid-range markets, by focusing our selection on a diversified, enriched, qualitative and cutting-edge offer, with a very wide choice at competitive prices, presented in a functional setting conducive to exchanges”.

Focus on African sourcing

This year saw the spotlight shine on African sourcing, now seen as an attractive alternative by many buyers. The nine Ethiopian companies present in Paris made promising commitments with European brands. Maryse Mbonyumutwa, founder of the Rwandan group Pink Mango, the first African manufacturing platform for sustainable and ethical global brands, has also made some solid contacts: “We’ve had promising discussions with representatives of several European brands that could sign up with us locally,” she said.

Exhibitors-visitors: three days of active exchanges

On the buyers’ side, the feedback also points to active exchanges. Bangladeshi manufacturer NZ Denim was able to meet almost all its European customers, including Celio, OKaïdi, Kiabi and Jules, over three days. “The show is an opportunity for us to meet the design teams to discuss materials for future collections, explains Najam Us Saqib, the manufacturer’s R&D manager. As for the buyers, they take advantage of our visit to Paris to keep abreast of the latest developments, such as the naturally colored cotton Ackala Coton, which we are presenting this year”. This innovation was highlighted during the Econogy Tour, which was organized for visitors interested in identifying companies that respect the ecological and social standards of the textile industry.

From mainstream brands to haute couture

The materials manager and the buyer for a major French general clothing brand have also set themselves the goal of monitoring the market. “We come to the show to meet our Indian, Turkish and Chinese suppliers, they explain, and then we do a lot of monitoring for future collections… Not forgetting the shopping list given to us by the designers, which we supplement with requests for samples”.

The same approach applies to haute couture. Livia Stoianova and Yassen Samouilov, founders of On Aura Tout Vu, came to meet Chinese and Indian suppliers: ”We wanted to identify materials and suppliers for a show production company that we support and advise, explain the two designers. We started with the selection suggested by Louis Gérin and Grégory Lamaud, the artistic directors of Texworld Apparel Sourcing Paris (and authors of Néocène, the show’s spring-summer 2026 trend book). For a first visit, we found some very interesting and particularly creative things”, they add.

NCTO Endorses Letter Imploring Amazon Founder To Crack Down On Suspected Bogus American Flag Sales

WASHINGTON — The National Council of Textile Organizations (NCTO) fully endorsed a letter from the country’s leading American flag manufacturer to Amazon Founder and Executive Chairman Jeff Bezos, imploring him to stop the suspected sale of unlabeled and deceptively labeled Chinese-made American flags on his company’s online marketplace.

In the letter, Carter Beard, president of Annin Flagmakers, a 178-year-old American flag manufacturer employing more than 500 workers, estimates that more than 100,000 unlabeled U.S. flags valued at $1.5 million are actually made in China and sold every month on Amazon in violation of a U.S. statute requiring a country of origin label.

Based on sample products purchased and industry knowledge, Beard states the industry believes third-party sellers on Amazon are selling “Made in China” U.S. flags and “not labeling them per the laws of the United States,” employing deceptive marketing schemes and illegal practices to mislead consumers.

See the full letter here.

“The industry stands united in supporting this letter from Annin Flagmakers and the entire flag industry,” said NCTO President and CEO Kim Glas. “The suspected sale of unlabeled or falsely labeled flags on Amazon and other e-commerce platforms hurts the American flag industry and textile industry, which has lost 27 plants over the past 20 months due to a flood of cheap, falsely labeled, unlabeled products and subsidized imports. That is why it is imperative that Amazon and other online marketplaces act immediately to stop any illegal labeling and deceptive advertising by Chinese companies that are duping American consumers who take pride in displaying authentic American-made flags. These suspected illegal actions are severely harming the strategic and critical American flag and textile industries, which employ hundreds of thousands of workers across the United States and produce flags and thousands of items for the U.S. military, PPE and consumer and industrial markets.”

KARL MAYER Launches A New Batching Device For Its Special Raschel Machines

OBERTSHAUSEN, Germany — February 20, 2025 — More benfits and maximum delivery reliability – these are the benefits that KARL MAYER is offering customers of its Raschel machines for special applications with a new fabric batching device.

The batching device bears the designation 26 B and is once again manufactured in-house for added value. In-house production guarantees punctual production in accordance with the production plan for the overall machine. In addition, the use of proven standard parts made by KARL MAYER and the innovative company’s design expertise ensure durability and continuous optimization.

Sascha Cron

“We are now more resilient in our dealings with suppliers and can drive forward further developments to our batching device more efficiently,” explained Sascha Cron, head of Customized Raschel Machinery Development at KARL MAYER’s Warp Knitting Business Unit.

More convenient operation, safer working

The first generation of the 26 B batching device already demonstrates what is possible in terms of upgrades.

The new solution offers particular advantages in terms of handling over the previous version. By integrating its control system into KAMCOS® 2, the required settings can be conveniently entered and read on the machine’s operator interface instead of on an external display. Nothing changes for the user in terms of content. All familiar functions remain available. The uniform control via KAMCOS 2 without system breaks also minimizes the susceptibility to errors and enables regular, simple updates of the drive controller remotely and according to standard routines.

A further advantage for the personnel is increased work safety. If the batching device is used with a needle coating, a system consisting of three light barriers and a protective grill across the entire width of the batching device prevents access with the risk of injury during machine operation. Batching devices with a conventional coating are secured with four light barriers.

A drive concept with less complexity while maintaining the same rotational movement and therefore unchanged fabric flow round off the current extensive benefits package of the 26 B batching device.

Room for further innovations

Further functional features can be implemented promptly on request. For example, an ejection device for heavy fabrics can be integrated into the batching device 26 B if required, thus reducing the manual effort. A traversing device is also possible to ensure an even selvedge build-up. The targeted displacement movement prevents the pillar stitch from piling up at the edges, which can cause slipping. Another potential option is to equip the batching device with a pressure roller. After changing a fabric beam, the additional component ensures reliable contact between the roller and the still-empty cardboard tube, and therefore a slip-free transfer of the rotational force. This allows perfect fabric tension to be achieved right from the start.

Available as standard and retrofit solution

Following comprehensive and successful functional tests, the 26 B batching device was released for sale in January of this year and had already been ordered by four customers by mid-February. The component is available as a feature of the standard specification of new machines. KARL MAYER’s spare parts range also includes retrofit solutions for existing machines, both with KAMCOS 2 and KAMCOS 1. The retrofit version for KAMCOS 1 machines also includes a modern external display with touch function. This means that users of older machines can also benefit from the excellent quality and functionality of the new 26 B batching device to ensure their continued successful production.

Tetsuji Yasumura

Tetsuji Yasumura from the KARL MAYER Care Solutions team is pleased to receive inquiries about replacing existing batching devices with the new 26 B variant on Raschel machines in practice.
