Mahlo GmbH + Co KG Presents Innovative Solutions For The Textile Industry At ITMA Asia 2024

SAAL ON THE DANUBE, Germany — September 12, 2024 — When ITMA Asia opens its doors in Shanghai on October 14, Mahlo GmbH + Co. KG will be presenting the latest systems and solutions for efficient, sustainable and high-quality textile production and finishing together with Shanghai Kuantex at stand H6-D17.

One of the key themes of Mahlo’s presentation is production optimization. The company has long been known for providing solutions that streamline textile manufacturing processes, helping businesses improve efficiency and reduce waste. The introduction of cutting-edge digitalization and energy-saving technologies underscores Mahlo’s commitment to meeting the needs of an increasingly digital and environmentally conscious market.

Mahlo will also highlight its well-regarded modular process control system “Optipac VMC” and the advanced data management platform “mLog Enhanced.” These systems are designed to enhance monitoring and control across various stages of textile production, ensuring consistent quality and operational efficiency.

Focus on innovative technologies

However, the main focus will be on Mahlo’s state-of-the-art straightening concept for feed-forward control of knitted fabrics with large and constantly changing distortions. The new flagship straightener ‘Orthopac RXVMC-20’, which was already presented as a prototype last year, has proven effective in numerous installations worldwide, delivering reliable results across diverse applications.

“Special attention was paid to the feed-forward controller and its interaction with the scanning system’s analysis electronics,” explains Sales Director Thomas Höpfl. An innovative control concept, supported by implemented AI, ensures that distortions are detected even before the correction rollers are reached, enabling even more precise and faster reactions.

However, the technology leader from Bavaria would not be living up to its reputation if it did not have another innovation up its sleeve. ‘ITMA Asia, with its important market and knowledgeable trade visitors, is exactly the right setting to present our latest development in the field of straighteners,’ Höpfl continues. This innovation will not only be available as a standalone straightener but can also be retrofitted to existing machines to enhance their performance and functionality.

Asia as a key market for the textile industry

As a key platform for the textile industry, ITMA Asia is an ideal venue for Mahlo to present its technological advancements to a global audience. With Asia being a critical market for textile manufacturing, the event provides an important opportunity for professionals to engage with the latest trends and establish valuable industry connections.

In global business, not even the latest communication systems can replace personal relationships. To members of the Swiss Textile Machinery Association, it’s vital making contact with customers old and new. “That’s what motivates our members to take their latest innovations right into the biggest textile manufacturing markets — along with a friendly handshake,” said Cornelia Buchwalder, the association secretary general.

Who to meet

The Swiss Textile Machinery Association warmly invites textile professionals to a special symposium in the heart of the North American textile sector. A total of 16 association member firms will be on hand to answer any questions about the technology, the products and more. Participating companies are:

  • Autefa Solutions;
  • Benninger;
  • Bluesign Technologies;
  • Bräcker;
  • Heberlein Technology;

  • Rieter;
  • Rotorcraft;
  • Saurer;
  • SSM – Schärer Schweiter Mettler;

North America is a well-chosen tour destination, because it has become an increasingly interesting market for Swiss textile machinery and component manufacturers, as well as service providers. “North America has a large and diverse textile market, with a strong technical textiles sector, covering a vast range of applications. This means demand for advanced textile machinery is at a high level,” Buchwalder said.

What to expect

The event will start with insights into the latest developments from the Switzerland-based companies, as the delegates showcase their innovations for the U.S. manufacturers. There will also be the chance for networking, at the exhibition tables and at a joint dinner for customers, representatives and guests. Circ Debuts At New York Fashion Week In Christian Siriano’s Spring/Summer 2025 Collection

NEW YORK CITY — September 10, 2024 — For the first time Circ®, a U.S.-based textile-to-textile recycling innovator, is showcased on the New York Fashion Week runway. Circ Lyocell was featured in celebrated American fashion designer Christian Sirianio’s Spring/Summer 2025 line, which was revealed during his New York Fashion Week show on Friday, September 6, 2024, at the Pierre Hotel.

The collection features two looks — a trench coat and a wide-leg pant with an accompanying bra top — made using Circ Lyocell, a filament lyocell with the look and feel of silk that’s derived from 40-percent recycled textile waste collected from the supply chain. Siriano selected Circ Lyocell to join the more traditional materials in his collection, showing that sustainability does not compromise design. The use of this innovative fabric in such a high-profile setting as New York Fashion Week demonstrates that recycled materials can achieve the same level of luxury and sophistication as traditional fabrics. A catalyst in accelerating circularity and galvanizing industry-wide collaboration and investment.

“I’m really excited to be working with Circ this season because it’s proof that sustainability can be high fashion, and NYFW is the perfect place to showcase that,” said Christian Siriano. “The fashion industry can be so wasteful, so it was important for me to set an example this season and show that we all, consumers and designers alike, can do more to help the environment.”

Breaking down blends of polyester and cotton — referred to as “polycotton” — is a known challenge for the industry and one of the biggest roadblocks to creating recycled raw materials to make new garments. Each year, tens of millions of tons of polycotton textile waste is landfilled or burned because existing recycling solutions cannot separate the plastic from the natural fiber and recover both materials. Circ’s innovative recycling technology provides a solution, as the only in-market platform to successfully separate polycotton blended textile waste and recover both cellulosic and synthetic fibers.

“Seeing Circ materials make their debut at New York Fashion Week alongside a visionary like Christian Siriano is a testament to the transformative power of innovation in fashion,” said Peter Majeranowski, CEO of Circ. “This collaboration not only highlights the elegance and potential of recycled textiles but also underscores our commitment to driving a more sustainable and circular future for the industry. It’s exciting to see such groundbreaking technology embraced on one of the most prestigious runways in the world.”

CARLSTADT, N.J. — September 10, 2024 – Pantone LLC today introduced its newest color collection, featuring 175 colors available across all of Pantone’s Fashion, Home + Interiors (FHI) products. For the first time in Pantone history, the new colors have been curated into two distinct palettes, collectively called Pantone FHI Dualities.

Introducing Pantone FHI Dualities

Presented as a duo of trend-forward palettes, 98 New Age Pastels and 77 Shadows, these colors provide designers with a versatile tool to articulate the nuances of our dynamic world, ensuring every creation tells a unique story.

The Shadows palette explores the fundamentals of color, celebrating the nuances that exist between black and white. These colors include tints and shades of grey, both warm and cool, soften the extremes, opening the door for creativity and new meaning. The trusted shades in the Shadows inspire a sense of new beginnings in a grounded way.

In contrast, the New Age Pastels palette features vibrant, lively pastels that push creative boundaries and color the future. Comprised of a collection of quiet but powerful light-filled hues, they conjure up an air of calm, tranquility, and other worldliness. From clear and brighter tones of light infused yellows and oranges through to minty greens, soft and hazy tints of papaya with a gentle touch, sky blue, rose blush and faded lavender violets, the New Age Pastels are a sweet and airy shade range whose playful uplifting vibe and lighthearted manner will add a touch of magic to any design. Together, these shades offer designers an expanded range to express their views on the world with new elegance and edge.

“We’re navigating a time of striking dualities, where the push for futuristic digital advancements meets a renewed quest for meaning and simplicity,” said Tannese Williams, head of Pantone Fashion, Home + Interiors. “We’ve distilled these insights into these two curated palettes of Pantone FHI Dualities, empowering our design community to express the rich contrasts and nuances that define our lives today.”

The palettes are available across the complete Pantone Fashion Home and Interiors product line and available as a standalone extension for a limited time.

“Translating these vibrant new Pantone colors into wearable art helped us fully harness the extent of Pantone’s offerings,” added Jyotika Jhalani, founder and creative director of Janavi. “We dream in color and believe in celebrating the magic of heritage craftsmanship — working with Bibhu Mohapatra and the new Pantone Dualities palette helped us leverage our artistry in a seamless creative integration.”
