ITMA Asia + CITME 2018 Exhibitor Preview: Karl Mayer

OBERTSHAUSEN, Germany — July 26, 2018 — At the upcoming ITMA ASIA + CITME to be held October 15-19, 2018, at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai, Karl Mayer will be present on Stand B 11, H 4, with an innovation show on the mega trends of our time, demonstrating how it is possible to implement such major topics as innovations, digitization and sustainability.

As far as digitization is concerned, Karl Mayer underlines its position as the undisputed number one in the market. For the development of new digital solutions with high customer benefit, Karl Mayer recently set up its own company. Karl Mayer’s new, digital brand will be launched at ITMA ASIA + CITME.

Concerning the topic of sustainability, the company will provide versatile solutions under the motto “Cleaner. Productions“. These include new warp knitting machines which have a lower energy consumption due to their intelligent technology, and application concepts with increased advantages for the environment. One of the highlights will show how it is possible to replace formerly mainly woven articles by warp-knitted textiles as an ecological alternative. An example in this respect is TERRY.ECO for the manufacture of terry articles.

The warp preparation business unit will be displaying a sizing machine with minimum resource consumption. Less demand for water, energy and sizing agents also means less costs and, thus, even more advantages for the customers. The technical core of the machine with focus on the ecological aspect will be presented during the trade fair. Besides, a new direct beamer with improved price-performance ratio will also be premiered at ITMA ASIA + CITME.

For the production of technical textiles, Karl Mayer will be demonstrating comprehensive expertise in Shanghai. Especially in the building and construction industry it is possible to open up new, lucrative areas of application by using textiles produced on Karl Mayer machines. Important keyword here is textile concrete.

Moreover, during the trade fair in Shanghai, Karl Mayer will invite its guests to take part in an in-house show at its plant in Changzhou. Here, the visitors will have the opportunity to see a performance show of the new COP 5 EL equipped with five guide bars, as well as lace raschel machines featuring an excellent price-performance ratio, and new developments in the double-raschel and terry-fabric fields. Besides, the visitors will also have the chance to see market-oriented developments for the warp preparation business, especially for the players in the shirting and sheeting market, and in the denim sector.

In other words: an exhibition full of future chances will be waiting for Karl Mayer’s guests.

Furniture And Decorative Fabrics: Heimtextil Expands Its Offer

FRANKFURT — July 26, 2018 — With more than 400 international manufacturers, the product range of upholstery and decorative fabrics as well as upholstery and artificial leather at Heimtextil is wider than ever before. The world’s leading trade fair for home and contract textiles, to be held next January 8-11, 2019, in Frankfurt is now further expanding its spectrum across a total of six hall levels.

‘The upholstery and decorative fabrics segment has been growing very successfully for several years now. In 2019, all the relevant European suppliers of upholstery and decorative fabrics, upholstery and artificial leather will be presenting themselves across the three levels of hall 4 for the first time’, said Olaf Schmidt, vice president, Textiles & Textile Technologies, Messe Frankfurt. The most important manufacturers of upholstery fabrics from Asia that also have export experience will also be represented in halls 1 and 5. All in all, Heimtextil combines the world’s largest and most international range in this segment, thus creating the best order options for buyers from the furniture and home textile industries as well as textiles editeurs.

Sustainable, weatherproof and suitable for commercial properties

Healthy living and working remains one of the top themes in the interior textiles sector. Furniture and decorative fabrics also make a contribution: they are able to optimize rooms climatically and acoustically and decisively improve the feel-good factor. In this respect, the on-trend fabrics are certified organic, waterproof and/or flame-retardant. At the same time, the textiles — despite all their high-tech — have a very natural appearance. This also applies to outdoor fabrics in linen, flannel or woven looks. When it comes to soft feel-good textiles for indoors, high quality wool is exploited to the full. Also on the rise are denim fabrics that sometimes give the interior a casual touch. On the morning of the first day of the fair, a design dialogue will take place with the Heimtextil trend managers about the latest design trends in upholstery and decorative fabrics. The trend researchers will invite representatives from the upholstery industry to the lecture area in hall 4.2 to exchange views on current topics.

Top European producers strongly represented

In hall 4, numerous big names from Europe will be present, such as Gruppo Mastrotto, Manifattura Tessile Di Nole, Martinelli Ginetto, MCA, Prosetex and Sirio Tendaggi from Italy, Boelert & Moens, De Poortere Frères, Symphony Mills and Tessutica (with the Beaulieu brand) from Belgium and Albatros, Bernard Reyn, Pintail and Reynaldo from the Netherlands. Other top players come from Spain: Manuel Revert, Santa Amalia Alta Decoracion (with the brand SATI) and Textiles Vilber. In addition, Dina Vanelli Tekstil and Güleser Tekstil from Turkey will also be present. From Germany, Gebrüder Munzert, Konrad Hornschuch, Leder Schreyeck, Textum and Vowalon Beschichtungen will be represented.

High-quality products for commercial textile furnishing

In addition, hall 4.2 will also focus on a further target group: at the “Interior.Architecture.Hospitality Expo”, architects, interior designers and hotel furnishers will find high-quality products for commercial textile furnishing, such as textiles with an acoustic function or with special abrasion-resistant properties. Crypton from the USA and Anavil Europe from France will be exhibiting for the first time at Heimtextil and will be presenting fabrics specifically for contract furnishing. Another highlight in hall 4.2 will be a large-scale presentation by Trevira. ‘We will further expand the concept of the Trevira CS joint stand in 2019. This means that we will be represented at Heimtextil with a larger number of customers and thus also the highly flame-retardant Trevira CS collections. Trevira will also be presenting a trend area especially for the contract market, where visitors — in particular interior designers, designers and furnishers — can find out about innovative textiles and colour trends’, said Dr. Isabell Lammel, Manager Communications at Trevira. The German manufacturer of high-tech polyester fibres and filaments will be presenting its new products alongside its well-known partners, such as Getzner Textil from Austria, Engelbert E. Stieger from Switzerland, Hoftex from Germany, Johan van den Acker from the Netherlands and Tessitura Mario Ghioldi from Italy.

Largest range of manufacturers from Asia

In halls 1.0, 1.1 and 5.1, Asian manufacturers experienced in exports will present a wide range of furnishing and upholstery fabrics on a total of three levels. This is where foreign traders and wholesalers focusing on volume-oriented orders can meet manufacturers with whom orders can be placed in medium and high quantities and supplied in a timely manner. In addition, the exhibitors will also be offering a varied range of products manufactured especially for retailers and bearing their own brand name. D Decor, G.M Syntex and SVG Fashion from India will be among those represented in hall 5.1.

Fibers and yarns: from natural materials to high-tech

In addition to the joint presentation by Trevira in hall 4.2, numerous manufacturers of fibres and yarns will be exhibiting at Heimtextil, spread across various product segments. The range extends from traditional materials and eco-certified yarns to high-tech fibres for use in highly specialized areas. Among the 20 producers are pioneering companies such as Dralon from Germany (hall 4.1, foyer), Lenzing from Austria (hall 11.0), Reliance from India (hall 4.0, foyer) and Torcitura Lei Tsu from Italy (hall 4.2).

Archroma To Present Solutions Towards Innovative And Sustainable Denim To India Industry

REINACH, Switzerland — July 26, 2018 — Archroma will present its innovative denim solutions for manufacturers and brands at DenimsandJeans India 2018, August 1-2, in Bangalore, India.

Just two months after the DenimsandJeans Vietnam show, Archroma will again showcase its unique combination of technologies for denim effects and colors, from fiber to finish, from the authentic roots of indigo to the most innovative and eco-advanced solutions.

At the India show, Archroma’s expert team will also present its coatings and washing solutions aiming at bringing denim creativity to a whole new dimension.

Visitors at the booth will be able to see an “illustration collection” of exciting indigo casts.

Denisol®, Bringing Indigo Back To Its Roots — Now Aniline-Free*

Archroma’s Denisol® range is a newly developed pre-reduced liquid indigo solution that is manufactured in Archroma’s award winning ‘zero liquid discharge’ manufacturing plant in Pakistan. Denisol Indigo 30 liq is compliant with major official eco-standards and requirements from retailers, brands and fashion leading companies and helps to produce fabrics suitable for current eco-labeling such as bluesign® and GOTS.

Responding to demands for a non-toxic alternative to the dyes that are used for the iconic and traditional indigo blue that consumers associate with denim and jeans, Archroma just announced the upcoming new Denisol Pure Indigo 30.

Advanced Denim, Towards Waterless Denim Dyeing

Consider this: The water needed to produce one pair of jeans is said to be ~ 11’000 liters1. With approximately 167 million pairs of jeans produced monthly2, that is 1,837,000,000,000 liters of water consumed every month in the process!

Based on the Denim-Ox and Pad/Sizing-Ox dyeing processes, Archroma’s multi-awarded ADVANCED DENIM, dyeing technology allows savings of up to 92 percent in water, 87 percent in cotton waste and 30 percent in energy, compared to a conventional denim dyeing process.

The technology has been adopted by brands like Patagonia and received the prestigious 2012 ICIS Innovation Award and Innovation with Best Environmental Benefit Award.

Optisul® C, “soft colors” made easy

With Optisul® C dyes, denim manufacturers can produce soft denim colors in continuous dyeing processes, as well as on coating and printing. Optisul C affinity-free, sulfide-free dyes can easily be combined with each other to create garments suitable for wash-down treatments in a wide array of easily achievable and reproducible soft colors.

They are suitable for GOTS and bluesign approval.

Diresul® RDT Ocean Blues, ocean-themed bright sulfur blue dyes

Archroma’s Diresul® RDT Ocean Blues are a collection of vibrant, ocean-themed bright sulfur blue dyes. These best-in-class dyes and their auxiliaries bring out the best of indigo, improve workability, dyeing consistency and process safety.

They can be combined with Denisol Indigo 30 liq in bottoming/topping manufacturing routes for avant-garde blue styles.

Diresul® blacks & greys, a cosmos of greys and deep black and navies

Archroma’s dye portfolio of conventional and black Diresul® specialties allow to create a universe of greys and deep black and navies. From superficial to solid blacks for both extreme wash-down and stay black effects.

Earthcolors, Traceable From Nature To Fashion

The EarthColors patented range of “biosynthetic” dyes for cotton and cellulose-based fabrics, which are made from waste left over by the agricultural and herbal industry after extraction, such as almond shells, saw palmetto, or rosemary leaves. The latest NFC technology used on the end-product hangtags enables transparency and traceability through the supply chain to consumers.

The EarthColors allow to produce the earth tones that are coming strong: red, brown and green colors. They have been adopted by brands such as Patagonia, Kathmandu and G-Star, and won an OutDoor Industry Award 2017.

Coating, A Whole Universe Of Colors And Effects

Archroma’s dye and chemical specialties portfolio allows to create exciting colors and effects using coating applications, from exclusive sulfur dyes and pigment specialties that help highlighting the indigo look, to functional finishes that give performance to denim garments – using water-based, formaldehyde-free or ultra-low formaldehyde polymers.

Solution Packages For Sustainability

Archroma recently introduced the ONE WAY Process Simulator, the last update of a calculation tool that supports its ONE WAY Sustainability Service introduced back in 2012. The new, online software can be used to mimic and compare products and processes, and thus calculate the ecological and economical profile of the final end-product.

Archroma’s portfolio of ZDHC MRSL-compliant chemicals and dyes is integrated into the ONE WAY calculation tool since 2013.

“It is time to make denim in a whole different way; denim that brings together innovation, sustainability and creativity,” says Anjani Prasad, Head of Sales India, Archroma. “Brands around the globe are exploring how to make fashion in a cleaner and safer way, and Archroma has the solutions to do just that, to create denim with a soul.”
