Carhartt Launches New Campaign To Celebrate People Who Wake Up And “Make It Happen” Each And Every Day

DEARBORN, Mich. — October 17, 2022 — Since its founding in 1889, Carhartt has maintained a longstanding commitment to creating tough gear that serves and protects all hardworking people. While that core mission hasn’t changed, the world we live in has. With more technology, diverse opportunities and higher pressure to succeed than ever before, Carhartt is proud to celebrate the people out there who wake up each day and “Make It Happen.”

An evolution of Carhartt’s Fit For The Next Frontier campaign that launched last fall with a call to work, “Make It Happen” comes to life in a new brand narrative that offers a fresh, optimistic outlook on today’s fast-paced world and celebrates the heroic tasks that hardworking people accomplish each day. The :30 spot follows various tradespeople — including construction workers, ranchers, urban farmers and muralists — as they jump from one rugged “world” to the next, helping each other get the job done along the way. In this new storytelling approach for Carhartt, the brand shares credit with its community, declaring that it’s been “making it happen since 1889.”

“While the next frontier of work is always changing, the ability to outwork and overcome new obstacles will forever be a constant,” said Brian Bennett, vice president of creative and executive producer at Carhartt. “Our goal is to give hardworking people — including the next generation of Carhartt wearers — the gear they need to make anything happen. This campaign celebrates the people who jump out of bed with such a fire in their belly, you just know they’re going to make something happen today. It’s also a reminder that our gear goes hand-in-hand with people who work with an unbridled enthusiasm to tackle one task to the next.”

Beyond inspiring a positive perspective on the future of work, the message behind “Make It Happen” nods to the ongoing evolution of Carhartt’s iconic styles that continue to meet the needs of future generations — and their changing skillsets and occupations. This means making gear that’s lighter-weight, flexible, fit for more sizes and defends against temperature extremes without sacrificing durability. Addressing consumers’ ever-changing needs continues to be a top priority for Carhartt, which is evident by the brand’s new Force sweatshirts and SuperDux jackets featured in the spot.

“We’ve seen a major shift in the types of careers people are pursuing and how people are choosing to spend time outside of work,” said Janet Ries, vice president of marketing at Carhartt. “At Carhartt, we’ve always had an innate love for labor and hardworking people, so this campaign is meant to give those people confirmation that we’ve got their back and are moving forward with them — wherever they go to make it happen for themselves and those around them.”

In addition to running on Carhartt’s website and social channels, creative from the new “Make It Happen” campaign will air across digital, on TikTok, in connected and streaming TV channels, and alongside the premiere of the “Yellowstone” prequel “1923” on Paramount+.

Tonello’s Laundry (R)Evolution Gets More And More Digital

SARCEDO, Italy — October 17, 2022 — It is time for the new Kingpins and Tonello will be unveiling the release of its new, more efficient, more innovative, and more responsible Laundry (R)Evolution. It offers an even greater digital vision of the laundry, thanks to the integration of three tools that increase transparency, traceability, and productivity.

Configurator: the laundry that runs itself

As easy as playing a game, the brand new Configurator, available on the Tonello website, allows clients to choose the technologies, software, and accessories for their next laundry, combining diverse solutions and thus obtaining a real projection of energy and resource consumption, as well as savings and sustainability benefits. For quick commercial contacts and targeted estimates on actual needs.

B.O.P. (Be On Point): with one simple touch productivity increases

The seamless integration with THE Laser, B.O.P. is based on the most recent developments in Computer Vision. It makes positioning laser designs on garments automatic and rapid. It allows a choice of different production modes and detects up to 8 garments at the same time.

Metro: the objective measure of excellence

Metro is the software that automatically and transparently measures the actual consumption of a laundry, summarizing these figures in each garment’s “environmental passport”. For brands that want to demonstrate their commitment to true sustainability, just as everything is being “tinted green” as a result of greenwashing. Thanks to Metro, it is possible to immediately distinguish oneself.

One more thing: from digital to the collection signed Tonello

Tonello cannot participate at the Kingpins without also showing a collection of garments made with the technologies we are presenting (B.O.P. and Metro), washed and dyed with the brand new Evolution 3 range of machines that further reduce water and energy, increase productivity, and lower costs: in short, they are simply the best washing and dyeing machines ever.

At Kingpins Amsterdam, you will be able to see also the result of our collaboration with PVH Europe and Kingpins. We are speaking about the MSP (Most Sustainable Product) collection, designed by Piero Turk, tailored by PVH Europe and treated in our R&D center with the latest Tonello responsible finishing technologies.

You can find Tonello at booth #07, green area, ground floor. The MSP collection, on the other hand, can be viewed on the red area, first floor.

Lee® Kicks Off Second Annual “LeeOriginals” Brand Equity Campaign

GREENSBORO, N.C. — October 13, 2022 — Lee®, the iconic American denim and apparel brand, has launched its 2022 campaign under the LeeOriginals platform. Produced in collaboration with preeminent photographer and creative director Mark Seliger, the campaign [#leeoriginals] continues to reaffirm the 130-year-old brand as one driven by celebrating the originality in all of us.

Concepted and shot by Seliger and styled by acclaimed costume designer and stylist Arianne Phillips, this second iteration highlights those moments where Lee helps you to make everyday legendary. Inspired by those who don’t just stand the test of time, but define it, the campaign is set to a new Sam Tinnesz song aptly entitled “New Wave.” These scenes capture Lee’s celebration of individuals who approach small and big moments of their lives with one part boldness, two parts optimism.

“This campaign embraces those moments where denim and self-expression merge,” Seliger said. “Casting was important — I wanted multi-faceted individuals who may be well known but feel very familiar and real. We created a storyline for each character and gave them the space to put their stamp on the film, and incorporated their personalities by using some of their own personal items. The result showcases that as they wear Lee they remain true to themselves and original.”

Hyosung Advanced Materials Obtains ISCC PLUS Certification

SEOUL — October 13, 2022 — Hyosung Advanced Materials Corp. has obtained the International Sustainability & Carbon Certification (ISCC) PLUS, a global sustainability certification program for bio-based and circular (recycled) raw materials.

ISCC PLUS is presented to sustainable and low-carbon products that meet the Renewable Energy Directives (RED) of the EU. This certification is recognized to be highly reliable across the globe as it requires strict verification of the entire process from raw material supply to production and distribution.

Hyosung Advanced Materials is the first tirecord player to acquire the ISCC PLUS certification through the application of eco-friendly raw materials, such as bio-based PET, mechanical recycled PET, and chemical recycled PET in its tirecord products. Hyosung Advanced Materials developed tirecords using sustainable materials — industrial bio-PET yarn using plant-derived materials, and high-strength recycled PET yarn using materials extracted from waste PET bottles. In addition, to respond to more diverse environmental needs, the company is developing bio-based nylon yarn and tirecords.

It is relatively difficult to obtain the sustainability certification for raw and other materials, and winning the certification holds great significance as it indicates the contribution to the expansion of eco-friendly products in the downstream industries. Amid the society’s growing interests in sustainability, automakers, such as BMW, are increasing their use of eco-friendly materials. Global tire companies including Bridgestone Corp. and Hankook Tire & Technology have also obtained the ISCC PLUS, signaling that interests and demand are increasing as for eco-friendly products.

Hyosung Advanced Materials CEO Lee Kun-jong said: “I believe that our efforts for R&D to enhance sustainability have been recognized by obtaining the ISCC PLUS certification. Setting this as a momentum, we will lead the eco-friendly product market by strengthening cooperation with global customers.”

Hyosung Advanced Materials is pursuing R&D activities in line with its three strategic directions of green management, which are “Zero Emission,” “Zero Waste,” and “Zero Impact.” The company is in transition to eco-friendly materials replacing all of its conventional polyester tirecord to sustainable materials by 2050 to keep pace with global tire makers. In addition, Hyosung Advanced Materials’ industrial yarn has obtained the GRS (Global Recycled Standard), and its car mats made of Bio-PET yarn have been applied to the latest electric and fuel cell electric vehicle models. As such, Hyosung Advanced Materials is expanding eco-friendly products in various business sectors.
