Huntsman Textile Effects Solves Storage Yellowing With STABILON® NPY

SINGAPORE — October 26, 2017 — Huntsman Textile Effects has introduced an agent designed to protect against phenolic yellowing: STABILON® NPY. It helps mills protect product quality and avoid costly recalls by ensuring that lingerie, swimwear, underwear and other polyamide garments, in whites and pale shades will not yellow during storage or transit.

Pale and full white polyamide fabrics are prone to unsightly yellowing when they come into contact with phenolic antioxidants, which are frequently encountered during textile processing and commonly present in packaging materials. Stabilon NPY protective agents prevent such yellowing by blocking the free amino end-groups of polyamide fibers.

Motion Industries’ Jim Williams Elected 2018 PTDA President

IFAI Announces Co-Location With CAMX For IFAI Expo 2018

ROSEVILLE, Minn. — October 26, 2017 — IFAI Expo 2018 will take place in Dallas October 15-18, 2018, and will be co-located with CAMX.

“The goal of this co-location is to expand the relationship between the technical textiles and composites industries for our attendees and exhibitors,” said Andrew Aho, vice president of new business development. “We want to capitalize on the current synergy between these industries, and promote future collaboration.”

IFAI Expo is the premier industrial fabrics expo for new and innovative products, as well as education and networking with experts and influential industry leaders. TRSA Sets 2018 Professional Development Event Schedule

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — October 25, 2017 — TRSA’s 2018 event calendar will offer many of the same popular formats that have attracted managers and executives of linen, uniform and facility services companies to TRSA professional development activities in recent years — with two summits added.

Eleven events have been scheduled, including the new Leadership Summit in June in Rosemont, Ill. (Chicago O’Hare Airport) plus four other summits, three conferences and three educational institutes following formats staged in 2017 and previously. Yet to be scheduled is a planned sixth summit (Marketing and Sales), likely to take place in early December.

Each summit is typically focused on management of a single aspect of industry operations. Returning in its twice-yearly format is the Production Summit and Plant Tours, where attendees discuss and view process improvements to increase laundry throughput and productivity. Typical attendees of this event, set for February in Anaheim, Calif., and September in Philadelphia, are production executives/managers and company owner-operators.

Returning in 2018 after its 2017 premiere is the second annual Workforce Management Summit (human resources, health and safety) paired with the seventh annual Safety Summit in May in St. Louis.

The Leadership Summit is premiering in response to TRSA members’ interest in an event providing education for and interaction between well-established leaders, young executives and emerging leaders. The third annual Marketing and Sales Summit, returning after its last appearance in 2014, will feature presentations that support attendees in capitalizing on industry market growth, retaining and recruiting management/staff and learning from other industries.

Conferences address multiple areas of operations and appeal to a wide range of individuals in various executive/management functions. The 106th Annual Conference (October, Napa, Calif.) will provide keynote speakers, industry updates and other presentations to guide everyday executive decision-making as well as corporate culture development.

The eighth annual Leadership and Legislative Conference (March, Washington, D.C.) will send participants to Capitol Hill for meetings in congressional offices. Institute programs return in August at the University of Maryland (Hyattsville) with the 54th annual Executive Management Institute (EMI) and the 29th annual Production Management Institute (PMI). Miller Weldmaster Manufacturing For Good At IFAI Expo

NAVARRE, Ohio — October 22, 2017 — Miller Weldmaster, a manufacturer of industrial fabric welding solutions based in Navarre, Ohio, loves to demonstrate that it is possible to combine doing good with showcasing technology. The company demonstrated this point when it used its T300 Extreme Flex welding equipment to team up with other manufacturers in the Demo Booth: Manufacturing for Good at the IFAI EXPO 2017.

IFAI, Industrial Fabrics Association International, sponsors this premier industrial fabrics show in order to help members and attendees see new and innovative products and learn from industry experts. This year’s expo was held September 26-29 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans. One unique facet of the gathering is the ability for attendees to witness live equipment demonstrations by member companies right on the trade show floor, as they collaborate in a manufacturing-for-good event to support local at-risk children and youth.

Miller Weldmaster demonstrated use of its T300 hot air welding equipment as part of a process to create sturdy duffel bags for donation to Raintree Services, Inc., a multi-service, non-profit organization that has assisted the Greater New Orleans Area since 1926.

Miller Weldmaster employee Pat Moore, shown in the photo holding a completed bag, participated on the company’s behalf and was the last step in an assembly line that manufactured over 70 bags during the show. Moore welded the round ends of every bag using hot air welding technology on the company’s T300 Flex Extreme Machine. There was a lot of attention to the booth, and other donations such as school supplies, were also collected. “It was an honor to be a part of the group that created these bags,” commented Moore. “On the last day of the IFAI Expo, a member of the foundation came to collect the bags and she was very grateful for all we had done. I was thrilled to be able to participate in a program that can do so much good for the local community.”

Novozymes: Solid First Nine Months With Strong Growth In Q3
