Denim North America Announces Launch of New Product Presentation “Dyed & Woven Collaborative Workshop”

COLUMBUS, Ga. — November 14, 2016 — Denim North America (DNA), a division of DNA Textile Group, is proud to launch the first of it’s kind, a new style of product presentation called Dyed & Woven Collaborative Workshop.

“Since the mid 90’s, there has been no significant change in the way that denim mills present fabric. We transitioned from fabric cards, to washed leg panels and finally to full garment presentations as it has remained for the past 10 years,” said DNA’s Creative Director Lisa Harris. “We are taking a new approach by sharing our development tools directly with our customers and bringing the mill process to them. This allows for a truly transparent and collaborative development effort.”

DNA is showing the flexibility and diversity of a single base component across multiple fabrics, silhouettes, and a variety of washes…the ability to do more with less. The Dyed & Woven Collaborative tool kit contains a sample from each step of the design process — from yarn slub to shade, construction, and wash — so you are able to visualize many different combinations that the components are capable of producing. DNA is giving this unique insight into the denim development process for the very first time at your fingertips.

Denim North America collaborated with Seattle-based manufacturing company Hardmill to produce the hand crafted presentation tools. Hardmill is a maker of simple, traditional, rugged high quality kitchenware and home goods.

For their Spring 2018 collection, DNA is leading the way by focusing on sturdy cotton faced twill fabrics, real denim, wearable function, and sustainability. Manufactured in Columbus, Ga.

Non-Drying Textile Ink Launched By MagnaColours®

BARNSLEY, England — November 8, 2016 — MagnaColours® Ltd., a supplier of water-based textile inks, has launched a high performance ink that can print bright colors onto high mesh-count textiles. According to the company, MagnaPrint® ND (non-drying) achieves great results without the harmful environmental side effects of PVC and formaldehyde.

The product has been developed as a water-based ink that can print vibrant colors on lighter fabrics, and will help brands achieve a unique and eye-catching finish. The ink can be printed onto high mesh-count fabrics as well as, or better than any PVC ink, but is more economical, alongside the obvious environmental benefits. The quality and technical performance of the ink has been designed to rival the resolution achieved by digital printing.

Tom Abbey, managing director, MagnaColours, said: “Many in our industry have questioned whether water-based inks will ever match the ease of use of their PVC counterparts. Not only have we achieved this, but we’ve exceeded our own high standards, producing an ink that truly stands apart. This is another demonstration of how we’ve made ‘the impossible’, possible.”

The new ink is available to market, through distributors, to the textile printing industry, and will allow new levels of environmental sustainability, an increasing concern for brands and consumers. Just like all of MagnaColours inks, MagnaPrint ND conforms to the highest levels of environmental scrutiny, using the best water-based technology to secure superior finishes.
