Techtextil 2017 Exhibitor Preview: Tanatex

EDE, Netherlands — April 10, 2017 — Forget about iPhones and APIs. The future of tech lies in textiles, or smart textiles, to be more exact. Now that new technologies allow manufacturers to add extra features to their clothes, curtains and car upholstery, technical textiles are the new normal. If there’s any secret of success, it lies in the ability to combine functionality with style and comfort. At the Techtextil International Trade Fair in Frankfurt, to be held May 9-12, Tanatex will introduce six textile solutions to help achieve just that. Can’t wait that long? Read on for a sneak preview!

No. 1: Tailormade solutions
As a textile professional, you deal with demanding customers daily, meaning you need to work on your added value non-stop. This is why our textile solutions all come with an expert that tailors them to your standards and machinery. This way, you get exactly what you need.

No.2: Performance improvers
Two top-shelf products don’t guarantee a perfect combination. If you work with several coatings, finishes and fabric types, you need crosslinkers and boosters that strengthen properties and avoid unwanted chemical reactions. Our experts know which ones you need to get the best out of each individual component. Just say the word and we’ll advise you!

No.3: Pure Performance
The magic of the end-product lies in the quality of the fabric. Our Pure Performance concept enables you to anticipate your customers’ wishes by improving stretch, elasticity, durability and shape recovery by forming a permanent and durable film around the fibre.

No.4: Storm Fit
Outdoor activities are wildly popular, boosting the demand for breathable apparel. We developed a way to transport sweat and high body temperatures without compromising the water-and wind-resistant qualities of your textiles. This way, users stay dry and comfortable under extreme weather conditions.

No.5: Insect proof
Insects can be real fun saboteurs, and in some areas, they even carry life threatening diseases. We developed a finish containing permethrin, that keeps away everything that bites, stings or even buzzes. Our Insect Proof finish can be added to any type of clothing, from fishing garment to army uniform.

No.6: Qi-tex
The way we dress influences the way we move. Our Qi-tex finish contains minerals that boost the wearer’s energy level, resulting in better balance and movements. The solution turns your textiles into performance optimisers; whether you add them to adaptive clothing for elderly people or to sportswear.

See you there!

Do you share our passion for textiles? Meet us at the Techtextil symposium! We’ll be in hall 3.0 at stand F80. Our product specialists will be happy to tell you all about our products and the way we collaborate.

Shanghai International Digital Printing Industry fair 2017: Sharing Of Expertise On Complex Issues Of Inks And Print-Heads

SHANGHAI — April 3, 2017 — Gauging development trends of digital printing ink and nozzle helps end-users to seize the initiative. In view of this, there will be a number of sharing sessions on different themes at the oncoming Shanghai International Digital Printing Industry Exhibition (TPF) from April 19-21. The intent is to have in-depth discussions on the development of digital printing ink and nozzle. In particular, the organizers have invited Dr Tim Philips, MD, IMI Europe, to speak on latest inkjet technology for textile digital printing at the technical lecture area of the exhibition hall on April 20.

Discussing the nuances of digital printing

Apparel Textile Sourcing Canada To Introduce First-In-Canada Artisanal Display Of Unique Offerings From Developing Countries

TORONTO — April 6, 2017 — With the steady growth of Canada’s apparel and textile industry, organizers of the Apparel Textile Sourcing Canada (ATSC) show have announced that representatives from more than 20 countries will be in Toronto this summer to unveil under one roof all that’s trending in the worldwide industry.

From August 21-23, 2017, at Toronto’s International Centre, top apparel and textile manufacturers from more than 20 countries including China, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, the U.S., the U.K., Canada, Turkey, Jordan, Switzerland, Vietnam, Nepal and more, will share with Canadians their latest products and production processes in an effort to forge new business relationships.

For the first time, thanks to a newly-minted partnership between ATSC and TFO Canada, Canadians will also get a sneak peek — and first grabs at import opportunities — of unique artisanal apparel, textiles and related goods from eight Least Developed Countries (LDCs): Madagascar, Uganda, Lesotho, Ethiopia, Haiti, Bangladesh, Cambodia and Nepal.

TFO Canada — which creates sustainable trade partnerships for exporters from developing countries to promote small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the specialty textile and garment sector — has announced that it will bring 30 SMEs to this year’s event to showcase the organization’s Artisan Hub initiative.

“This Canadian-based sourcing show is the opportunity we have been waiting for,” said Steve Tipman, Executive Director of TFO Canada. “This is a ‘can’t miss’ opportunity for buyers who are looking for unique products. We are excited to be working in partnership with ATSC.”

According to Jason Prescott, CEO of JP Communications, North America’s leading publisher of B2B trade platforms TopTenWholesale.com andManufacturer.com and organizer of ATSC: “This show is an unprecedented opportunity for Canadian importers, manufacturers, retailers, designers and small businesses to get a first-hand look, without leaving their home turf, at the global fashions, fabrics and textures that consumers will be after in the coming year.”

As the Canadian demand for apparel increases, goods are increasingly coming from abroad.  According to the Government of Canada Apparel Industry Profile, apparel imports are up by $3.4 billion or 8.3 percent annually (average), totaling $12.5 billion in 2015.  Domestic demand for apparel has increased annually since 2011.

A comprehensive trade show and conference, ATSC is supported by many international governmental associations, headed by the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Textile and Apparel (CCCT) and the Bangladesh High Commission, led by Dewan Mahmud, First Secretary (Commercial) at Bangladesh High Commission. The 2017 show will see a larger delegation of exhibitors and speakers from both China and Bangladesh after the show’s successful debut last August.

Techtextil 2017 Exhibitor Preview: Uster Technologies

USTER, Switzerland — April 5, 2017 — The amazing diversity of technical textiles applications is matched by the wide variety of quality characteristics needed in the raw material used — so filament yarn producers know they must work to the most stringent specifications and standards. Quality failings, especially in the critical parameter of yarn evenness, can be expensive, but the USTER® TESTER 6-C800 provides fast, accurate testing to the tightest tolerances, protecting filament producers against customer complaints and claims.

Raw materials for technical textiles cover a wide range of end-uses and performance requirements. Viscose fibers, for instance, are found in lightweight blouses as well as in wire cording and high-speed car tires. Polyester, common in low-price clothing, is also transformed in special high-tech versions, for sophisticated sportswear and outdoor clothing. Countless other examples of technical applications for filament yarns span sectors such as medical, industrial, transport, engineering and protective clothing.

Despite this variety of products, there is one fundamental requirement which is common to all: the absolute need for yarn evenness, measured to close tolerances, to ensure that the functional and aesthetic properties of the finished article achieve the high quality standards that customers demand.

Reliable test results

Efficient testing routines and the right testing equipment are the key to avoiding customer dissatisfaction, quality claims and the loss of future business for filament producers.

Evenness testing has to combine reliability, accuracy and speed. The Uster Tester 6-C800 is specially designed for filament yarn testing, to meet these criteria perfectly. At its heart is the new Capacitive Sensor, providing more accurate and reliable test results than ever before.

Typically, filament yarns show a CVm value around 1, so that even small deviations in evenness are likely to cause noticeable defects in the fabric. The increasing complexity of applications and performance standards — with fabrics needing to protect against water, wind, cold, heat, and even bullets — means that evenness is an absolute requirement.

For this vital parameter, spinners have for decades been depending on the USTER CVm value, now recognized as the defining global standard for evenness.

The Uster Tester 6-C800 combines reliability with top speed operation. All models operate at the test speed of 800 meters per minute. Running on the automatic setting, the high sample throughput rate gives even better detection of quality exceptions. The result is lower labor costs and improved control of quality for the business.

See it at Techtextil

The latest Uster Tester for filament yarn will be presented at Techtextil 2017 in Frankfurt, Germany, the leading global showcase for technical textiles. The USTER display (Hall 6.1, booth B65) will present the production optimization and quality assurance benefits to show visitors.

As well as the advantages already described, the Uster Tester 6-C800 offers three new unique features to help yarn producers increase efficiency and improve quality. The measurement of interminglings is an innovation saving time and preventing variations in subsequent fabric appearance. An automatic twist scan facility has been developed, assist filament quality monitoring by making twister settings easier. And the Knowledge Based System (KBS) quickly traces the cause of a quality problem on the spinning machine, with no need for extra settings or input from the machine supplier, via a single click on the spectrogram display.

Expertise inside

Built-in knowledge now comes as standard for Uster instruments, along with the renowned Swiss accuracy. The sophisticated sensor technology in the Uster TESTER 6-C800 is rooted in continuous R&D aimed at higher performance and extended applications — echoing progress in the technical textiles yarns themselves. The new Capacitive Sensor empowers filament yarn producers with the expertise to deliver right-first-time quality, no matter how demanding and innovative the application. It creates a chain of customer satisfaction, from USTER to its customers, and on to the customer’s customers…
