Uster Sells HVI Classing To USDA, China Bureau

The US Department of Agriculture
(USDA) has purchased 40 Uster® HVI Classing systems from Switzerland-based Uster Technologies AG
for the 2005 cotton season. The addition of the new systems brings to approximately 250 the number
of HVI systems the USDA operates from 12 classing offices located in the cotton-growing regions of
the United States.

Uster reports the Fiber Inspection Bureau of China also plans to purchase a substantial
number of HVI Classing units for this year’s cotton season, adding to the current total of 22 such
units it is already using.
