Techmer PM Names Dwayne Miller Its New CFO

Miller

Clinton, Tenn. — April 11, 2022 — Techmer PM LLC, the Clinton, Tenn.-based compounder and materials design firm, has hired Dwayne Miller as its CFO.

Miller brings more than 35 years of experience to the post, having been active in private equity, turnarounds, start-ups, conversions, operational management and acquisition determination. Most recently he served as CFO of Americo Manufacturing Co. Inc, an Acworth, Ga.-based maker of environmentally friendly cleaning products.

A native of Hamilton, Ohio, he began his career with Champion International (now part of International Paper) in 1983 after earning his B.S. degree in accounting at the University of Miami in Oxford, Ohio. He began at Champion as a stationary engineer and quickly moved up through the ranks over the course of 18 years. While at Champion he was part of a four-person team that oversaw the building of a greenfield manufacturing plant in Florida’s panhandle, leading the project from conceptual design through implementation.

He joined Georgia Pacific in 2001 and worked there for five years, first as plant controller and shipping manager, then as regional controller for GP’s Color Box Division, and finally, in 2005-06 as controller in the company’s corporate headquarters. He held similar financial posts with Racetrac Petroleum and Cummins Power South LLC before moving into private equity in 2013 as CFO and vice president of SP Fiber Technologies LLC, where he led the turnaround of a $500 million manufacturing company coming out of bankruptcy.

In 2015-16 Miller continued in private equity (PE) with Atlanta-based Strata Products Worldwide where he was responsible for all fiscal and fiduciary aspects of the company on a global basis, and then served as CFO for Tyden Group, a PE holding company with three global businesses that had a presence in more than 50 countries.

“Dwayne is an accomplished CFO and change agent,” noted Techmer CEO Mike McHenry. “We are pleased to add him to our team as we continue to grow and expand.”

Miller said that it was the broad-based polymers industry that first attracted him to the job, but that his interest only grew as he learned more about Techmer PM and its people. “They have great facilities, their products touch everything, they work with amazing partners such as NASA, and they were incredibly thorough in their interview process. Every step of the way I was more impressed with the company.”

Still a certified public accountant, Miller will continue to live in the Atlanta area with his wife of 40 years.
