Non-Drying Textile Ink Launched By MagnaColours®

BARNSLEY, England — November 8, 2016 — MagnaColours® Ltd., a supplier of water-based textile inks, has launched a high performance ink that can print bright colors onto high mesh-count textiles. According to the company, MagnaPrint® ND (non-drying) achieves great results without the harmful environmental side effects of PVC and formaldehyde.

The product has been developed as a water-based ink that can print vibrant colors on lighter fabrics, and will help brands achieve a unique and eye-catching finish. The ink can be printed onto high mesh-count fabrics as well as, or better than any PVC ink, but is more economical, alongside the obvious environmental benefits. The quality and technical performance of the ink has been designed to rival the resolution achieved by digital printing.

Tom Abbey, managing director, MagnaColours, said: “Many in our industry have questioned whether water-based inks will ever match the ease of use of their PVC counterparts. Not only have we achieved this, but we’ve exceeded our own high standards, producing an ink that truly stands apart. This is another demonstration of how we’ve made ‘the impossible’, possible.”

The new ink is available to market, through distributors, to the textile printing industry, and will allow new levels of environmental sustainability, an increasing concern for brands and consumers. Just like all of MagnaColours inks, MagnaPrint ND conforms to the highest levels of environmental scrutiny, using the best water-based technology to secure superior finishes.

RadiciGroup Takes The Field With The Italian National Football Team: New High-Performance Artificial Grass Turf At The Coverciano Football Technical Center

BERGAMO, Italy — November 8, 2016 — Tessiture Pietro Radici, an ancestral RadiciGroup company, is the producer of the polyethylene yarn used to manufacture the synthetic turf covering for a new 11-a-side football pitch, inaugurated on Tuesday, September 8, at the Italian Football Federation’s (FIGC) Federal Technical Centre (CTF) in Coverciano, with a friendly match between the staff of the Federation and some journalists of the sports press. The installation was carried out following the FIGC technical sector’s decision to upgrade one of the CTF football pitches with artificial grass in order to ensure an ideal playable surface in any playing conditions.

The new synthetic turf was manufactured with Radigreen® MFL PE S-CORE yarn — monofilament yarn made of high-performance polymers, delivering high wear resistance, split resistance and playing field uniformity over time. The turf and the whole system were designed and produced by Sofisport, an Italian company specializing in the manufacture, installation and maintenance of artificial grass fields produced with the most up-to-date technologies.

Artificial grass carpet made with Radigreen MFL PE S-CORE is an invitation to play — it has the look of natural grass at its best, without the high maintenance cost of natural grass. Moreover, the two-colour versions allow manufacturers to successfully reproduce the various green tonalities of natural grass blades, thus making the synthetic turf even more pleasing to the eye.

Radigreen MFL PE S-CORE is soft and pleasant to the touch like natural grass. Soft, but resistant, it will not cause skin abrasion, yet ensures excellent resilience. Still another advantage of the product is that it retains its characteristics over time. Indeed, before being placed on the market, the product has to pass rigorous tests of resistance to UV rays, weathering, and wear and tear over long periods of time.

With its 75-year history, Tessiture Pietro Radici (TPR) and its 130 employees guarantee competence and reliability in the production of Radigreen artificial grass yarn for synthetic turf. The TPR production unit is based in Gandino (Bergamo, Italy), alongside its research and development department that supports production by ensuring continual innovation and retention of Radigreen’s excellent characteristics and sustainability over time.

The realization of the new artificial grass football pitch in Coverciano was a great opportunity to show how an all Italian production chain — from yarn producer to synthetic turf maker — can guarantee efficiency, innovation and product environmental sustainability. A combination of key features that takes on an even greater meaning, since the end product — 100-percent made in Italy — is a playing field for the Italian national football team.

As always, TPR’s know-how and responsiveness to the needs of a continually evolving market (such as artificial grass) has enabled the firm to meld the high technical performance and playing comfort demanded by its customers into a specific product: Radigreen MFL PE S-CORE. The yarn delivers exceptional performance in terms of resilience, its capacity to spring back to an upright position after being stepped on. Consequently, ball roll and biomechanical tests show excellent results over time. These characteristics are of the utmost importance for all pitches where the Italian national football team does its training.

MISSION Launches New Line Of Innovative Heating Technologies To Help Athletes Combat Colder Tempertures For Training And Competition

NEW YORK CITY — November 3, 2016 — MISSION, the sports performance leader in Thermoregulation technologies, has announced the launch of its new Heating line of Accessories & Gear powered by game-changing technologies to keep athletes super warm and dry in colder weather conditions.

The new Heating line includes a full range of Accessories & Gear, including High Performance Gloves, Scarves, Headbands, Beanies, Balaclavas, Neck Gaiters and Baselayer Tops and Bottoms. The ultra-lightweight and breathable Heating collection is entirely constructed to deliver superior warmth without the weight, while keeping athletes dry during training and competition.

As the global leader in Thermoregulation, Mission is once again setting a new standard for microclimate management and temperature control to enhance performance and comfort for athletes at all levels of play.  From its new Performance Gloves that are carbon-infused and promote 20 percent greater heat retention than standard fleece, to its new Performance Baselayer Tops & Bottoms that are powered by 37.5® technology and keep you super warm and dry, Mission’s latest product innovations, further reinforce the company’s focus on cutting edge technologies for enhancing performance through temperature control.

“It’s a simple equation, at Mission we put the athletes first when developing our new innovations. The two biggest complaints we heard from athletes in fall/winter training were associated with the bulk and weight of winter gear and how it impedes dexterity and performance, and secondly, that the bulk and weight of the winter gear produces significantly more sweat, which makes the athlete colder, faster. Our new Mission Heating line nails both of these, providing athletes with superior warmth without the weight, and superior dryness throughout the activity. As the brand that has created and led the Cooling category for the last 5 years, we’re fired up to bring that same maniacal innovation focus to the Heating category,” said Josh Shaw, CEO and Founder of Mission.

“Mission’s new Heating line is going to change the way athletes train and compete in the cold weather.  These items are so warm, yet lightweight, which eliminates the bulk and sweat that can get in the way of performing to your potential.  They will be a must-have when training in the fall and winter,” said Mission partner and New York City FC Captain David Villa.

The line will be available at leading retailers such as Dick’s Sporting Goods, Academy Sports, Target, Lowe’s, and Mission.com.
