SUMMARY:The Nonwovens Institute — Nonwovens Technology: On the Frontlines of a World Pandemic Webinar #2 of 6
DESCRIPTION:Air and Aerosol Filtration Basics \nDr. Hooman Tafreshi will give an overview of air and aerosol filtration science and testing. He will discuss the key attributes of nonwoven filtration media and their effect on filtration efficiency and user personal protection (PPE). \nModerator:  Dave Nelson\, NWI’s director of Industry Engagement \nDr. Tafreshi is the Qimonda Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Virginia Commonwealth University\, and has been with the Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering Department since 2007\, as assistant professor (2007–2012) and associate professor (2012–2015). Prior to VCU\, Dr. Tafreshi spend many years at The Nonwovens Institute leading filtration work and modeling.  Dr. Tafreshi’s research is in the areas of computational and experimental multiphase flows. His main focus is on single/multiphase fluid\, heat\, and particle transport through fibrous and porous media. He is also active in modeling interfacial phenomena and superhydrophobicity. He has more than 100 journal publications in the above and other areas of thermo-fluid sciences\, including liquid jets and nozzle flows. \nFree for NWI Members | $50.00 for Non-Members
