ITG, China Ting Group To Build Plant, Enter Burlington House Licensing Pact

International Textile Group (ITG), Greensboro, N.C., has formed a partnership with Hong Kong-based apparel product manufacturer China Ting Group to build a dyeing and finishing plant in Zhejiang province, southeast of Shanghai. The company also will build a warehouse and distribution center at the same location, and will invest $20 million in the combined projects.

ITG's Interior Fabrics Division will have responsibility for the plant, which is scheduled for completion by the end of this year.

"The dynamic Asian market represents an opportunity for growth," said J. Derrill Rice, president, Interior Fabrics Division. "A manufacturing base in China is critical to support our strategy both domestically and abroad."

In other news, China Ting Group will develop under ITG license a concept for Burlington House Retail freestanding home furnishing stores, and expects to open 25 stores by the end of this year. "Leveraging our brand equity with strategic alliances around the world is a focused objective for ITG," said Joseph L. Gorga, president and CEO, ITG.
