NEW YORK CITY — SEPTEMBER 12, 2023 — On Tuesday, September 12, the NYC based modern menswear brand Mack Weldon will be releasing the Silver Denim Collection. The company’s first foray into denim, the collection combines premium 5-pocket jean styling with a first-of-its-kind, IONIC+® silver infused denim that will stay completely odor-free for the life of the jeans, no matter how often they’re washed.
“Denim is a staple in every guy’s wardrobe, and therefore something we’ve been interested in for a while,” explains Mack Weldon Founder & CEO Brian Berger. “The challenge we gave ourselves was how can we deliver real Mack Weldon innovation in this very crowded category. We found the answer in a core material technology that we use in our premium Silver line of underwear and T-shirts.”
Mack Weldon’s Silver Denim collection was developed in collaboration with Cone Denim, a venerable American denim mill that has been producing best-in-class denim fabrics since 1891, and longtime Mack Weldon partner, Noble Biomaterials, inventor of the odor-blocking Ionic+ silver technology. Together, the companies have created a first-of-its-kind silver-infused, ring-spun cotton selvedge denim that’s guaranteed to stay odor-free for the life of the jeans.
“By working with our partners at Noble and Cone, we were able to combine Ionic+ SIlver technology with the best denim material to create something totally unique in the market. In addition to being naturally antimicrobial, our 10oz denim is the perfect year-round weight and has just the right amount of stretch, so there’s no bagging or sagging, just unfettered comfort and mobility. Our washing process also uses an eco-friendly, waterless ‘ozone rinse’ to lock in the natural dyes and give the jeans a premium raw look while minimizing water consumption.”
Additional features include durable, powder coated hardware, reflective accents on the cuffs for bike safety, bonded seams on the back pockets for reduced weight and greater longevity, and lint-preventing mesh inside the front pockets.
