Accel Unite’s Megan Eddings To Pitch Revolutionary Isolation Gown At Prestigious Competition

HOUSTON, Texas — November 10, 2022 — After winning the South Texas Region and the Semi-Finals Round, Accel Unite is thrilled to announce founder and CEO Megan Eddings will be participating in the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council’s WBENC Pitch competition in Washington next week.

Narrowed down from a first-round of more than 500 business owners, Megan was chosen as one of 47 to pitch in the semi-finals round and is one of 12 winners selected to pitch at the prestigious “Innovate with WBENC” event in the grand finale. This signature competition features a series of pitch competitions and educational sessions to help women business owners gain meaningful exposure, and compete for grants and other prizes to invest in their business.

Eddings will be pitching Accel Unite’s award-winning reusable isolation gowns, which are patent-pending in 153 countries.

“I am truly honored and humbled that I will be among this select group of inspiring and innovative women sharing our inventions,” Eddings said. “I could not be more proud of Accel Unite and what it represents. I am super pumped to share the financial, environmental, and health benefits of our reusable isolation gown with such a forward-looking audience.”

Born out of the need for reliable and sustainable PPE, Accel Unite spent more than a year developing a new design for a reusable isolation gown that is more affordable, increases safety against cross-contamination, and is less damaging to the environment. Instead of being thrown away, Accel Unite’s gowns can be washed at home or by a commercial launderer. Disposable options, on the other hand, burden supply chains, increase costs, and substantially contribute to the single-use plastic epidemic. Accel Unite does not rely on an overseas supply chain to manufacture its gowns and is therefore poised to become a highly competitive market leader.

WBENC is a leading non-profit organization dedicated to helping women-owned businesses thrive. With its world-class certification standard, WBENC validates that a business is at least 51 percent owned, controlled, operated, and managed by a woman or women. The certification is accepted by thousands of corporations, state and local governments, as well as the US Military.

The other finalists participating in the pitch event include:

  • Click & Carry Inc.;
  • FeaturesFirst Auto;
  • Hacha Products Corp.;
  • InfoMart;
  • Life by Dallas Inc.;
  • MinkeeBlue;
  • Neowaste;
