Teijin Begins Teijinconex® neo Production

Teijin Corp. (Thailand) Ltd. — a wholly owned subsidiary of Japan-based Teijin Ltd. — now is producing Teijinconex® neo at its facility in Ayutthaya, Thailand. The company reports this is a new type of highly heat-resistant and dyeable meta-aramid fiber suitable for protective apparel. The 22,985-square-meter site broke ground in December 2013 and cost approximately 4.5 billion yen ($37 million). The facility will produce 2,200 tons of Teijinconex per year initially.
