Shanghai show expands machinery and technology coverage.

ITMA ASIA + CITME 2026 will be held Nov. 20-24 at the National Exhibition and Convention Centre in Shanghai. The combined exhibition will occupy seven halls and approximately 180,000 square meters of gross exhibition area, a 10% increase from the last edition.

More than 1,800 exhibiting companies have applied to participate, with nearly 90% from China. Exhibits will be organized by production process and span the textile and garment manufacturing value chain, from spinning and man-made fibers through weaving, knitting, printing, dyeing and finishing, nonwovens, garment making, recycling, testing and packaging.

New sectors will include equipment for textile-reinforced composites, textile recycling technologies, digital platforms and automation solutions for production processes. A dedicated Research and Innovation sector will bring together Chinese universities to present research developments and industry-academia-research collaboration, including embodied robots for textile applications, intelligent inspection technologies and artificial intelligence development platforms.

Among companies that have confirmed participation are Atexco, B.T.D., Barmag, Beijing Chonglee, BEST, CHTC, Cixing, Dornier, Epson, Fong’s, Hicorp, Hongyuan, Itema, Karl Mayer, Konica Minolta, LMW, Murata, Picanol, Rieter, Rifa, Santoni, Saurer, Shima Seiki, Staubli, Taitan, Texpro, TMT, Truetzschler, Vandewiele, Yingyang and Yoantion.

Exhibitors will present developments in digitalization, intelligent manufacturing and automation intended to support sustainability, energy and resource efficiency, and smarter production.

The 2024 edition attracted more than 90,000 visitors from 111 countries and regions, nearly 90% of them from China. Organizers also reported growing visitor numbers from Algeria, Japan, Italy, Sri Lanka, Türkiye and the United Kingdom that year.

International trade visitors may preregister through itmaasia.com and citme.com.cn through Nov. 19. Trade visitors can receive a 40% early-bird discount on admission tickets. Domestic and international trade associations, industry organizations and corporate visitor groups of six or more participants may apply for preferential group admission packages.

From April through July, organizers conducted outreach in key textile markets as part of efforts to broaden international visitor participation. Further activities are planned in Bangladesh, Brazil, Egypt, Pakistan, South Africa and other markets. More than 100 overseas trade associations, industry organizations and key enterprises have received invitations for group participation. Within China, promotional activity is focused on Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Shandong and Guangdong, as well as industrial clusters in Xinjiang, Hubei and Henan.
