SUMMARY:Fundamentals Of Color Fastness To Perspiration\, Sea Water & Water
DESCRIPTION:Good color fastness in garments is a standard we automatically expect from our clothing\, but certain conditions can affect how well they retain their color. When exposed to various natural aqueous materials such as perspiration\, sea water and water\, fibers and yarns can become agitated\, and color fastness can be compromised. \nIt is crucial that manufacturers take the correct precautions to ensure that the textiles they produce remain color fast\, able to withstand exposure to a great many different liquids and substances. Testing using relative standard methods is essential to assess the efficacy of the product\, to then confirm that the end products meet acceptable international standards. \nThis webinar covers the effects that perspiration\, sea water and water have on textiles\, and how to test their color fastness.

SUMMARY:James Heal: Fundamentals of Child Garment Mechanical Safety
DESCRIPTION:There are many factors to consider when developing garments for children; none are more important than the safety of wearer. \nWithout consideration for the security of attachment of components like buttons and fasteners\, or the use of cords and drawstrings\, there is the potential for clothing to cause serious injury\, including suffocation\, to a baby or small child. \nFor this reason\, it is crucial that children’s clothing complies with the relevant standards. Join our live webinar to learn about recent changes to test standards in Europe which will help you to source or develop safe garments for children. \nCourse Outline \n\nWhy is child garment testing important?\nThe main hazards for children from clothing.\nRecent changes to test standards in Europe\, namely the CEN/TS 17394 series.\nA general overview of the test\n\nWhen? Choose a session to suit the time zone you are in: \nWednesday\, September 29\, 1 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Eastern OR Thursday\, September 30\, 8 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. BST

SUMMARY:Sustainability of E-Textiles
DESCRIPTION:Presented by Dr Russell Torah\, University of Southampton.\n\nWith an ever increasing population and the rise of consumer culture around the world there is a need for all products to be more sustainable and recyclable to reduce their environmental impact. This is particularly true with the development of e-textiles; a combination of two of the largest waste producers in the world\, the textiles and electronics industry. This webinar will discuss a number of the challenges of sustainability of e-textiles including the new materials being researched\, the international standards and strategies from the key players in this field.

SUMMARY:Absorbent Hygiene Training Course
DESCRIPTION:This intensive 2.5-day course is your opportunity to deepen your understanding of how baby diapers\, incontinence and feminine care products are designed\, how they function\, and how their material components influence final design and costs. \nYou’ll receive technical instruction on raw materials used in the components of modern absorbent hygiene products (AHPs) and how and why they’re assembled the way they are. You’ll reverse-engineer a selection of products to gain a hands-on understanding of product construction and component function. And you’ll learn how to test and evaluate products to meet specific market and design criteria. It’s all led by a former P&G Research Fellow in hygiene products and supplemented with four category experts. \nDesigned for professionals with at least two years of industry experience\, or who have completed the Professional Development Center’s Elementary Nonwovens Training Course.
