Manchester, N.H.-based Velcro USA Inc. and Buffalo, N.Y.-based AccuMed Technologies Inc. have
signed an agreement under which AccuMeds patented Breathe-O-Prene® materials will be used in Velcro
USAs product line of hook and loop fasteners for medical, military, safety, and industrial
applications. According to the companies, Breathe-O-Prene – a breathable, moisture-wicking material
that features an open-cell construction – is considered an alternative to neoprene and latex.

companies seeking to improve comfort, ease of use and durability,” said Joan Cullinane, vice
