TeXtreme® Wins Fiberrik Competition

TeXtreme® — a spread tow carbon reinforcement fabric manufactured by Sweden-based Oxeon AB, a producer of tow carbon fiber fabrics — recently was named winner of the Fiberrik competition, a Swedish contest for technical textiles innovations.

The jury stated its reasoning behind the decision as follows: “[TeXtreme] is a highly innovative and all textile product within the field of technical textiles with great market potential, now and in the future. The product has already come a long way in its development and commercialization. This technical textile can be used to produce lighter, firmer and stronger composites at a low cost.”

TeXtreme carbon fabrics are used in a variety of applications, including aerospace and aviation, sports and consumer goods, racing boats and cars, and industrial applications.

Oxeon will invest the 200,000-Swedish-kronor (US$33,134) prize in further weaving technology and product development.
