Germany-based Karl Mayer Textilmaschinenfabrik GmbH has introduced the Rot-O-Tense, a new yarn
tensioner with a motor-driven AccuGrip wheel that autonomously controls yarn tension set by the
operator at the creel.
The Rot-O-Tense independently monitors the actual value and adjusts it to the set value,
enabling each take-off point to have its own yarn tension value. It can operate at yarn tensions of
up to 330 centiNewtons, and can achieve variable yarn running speeds of up to 1,200 meters per
minute, regardless of yarn tension. If the yarn breaks or packages run out, the system
automatically detects the missing or loose yarn and stops the machine. The Rot-O-Tense can be used
to process almost any amount and type of yarn, including polyester, polyamide, polypropylene,
glass, aramid, carbon, rayon, wool and cotton.
