Shaw Floors Introduces Multiuse Indoor/Outdoor Collection

DALTON, Ga. — March 1, 2012 — Shaw Floors has partnered with a leading manufacturer of outdoor
fabrics to create the fashionable and multiuse Indoor/Outdoor Collection. Launched during Shaw’s
Winter Market events in January 2012, the collection boasts 21 styles in a variety of constructions
and materials, including turf, tufted loop and needle bond that are available for residential and
commercial applications. The stylish line responds to growing consumer demand for robust and
intricately designed outdoor living spaces.

“This updated and invigorated Indoor/Outdoor line really represents a complete collection
that responds to any home or commercial need,” said Quentin Quathamer, marketing manager. “By
partnering with a leading outdoor fabric manufacturer we’ve ensured that our color and design
offerings are versatile, which can ultimately inspire a more creative design process for the
homeowner. We want our line to be the go-to collection for any lifestyle and location demand.”

The Indoor/Outdoor collection includes flooring options for a variety of locations, including
entrances, porches and patios, putting greens, pool and waterpark surroundings, boat decks,
outdoor restaurant spaces and commercial entrance areas. The developed collection offers new and
improved warranties and installation guidelines. And the floors’ aggressive performance
characteristics, such as moisture resistance, fade resistance, mildew resistance and stain
resistance, enable each offering to additionally outfit  air-locked locations, such as
garages, dens, locker rooms and utility rooms.

The HGTV Green Home design team chose the Dream Weaver style from the Indoor/Outdoor
collection to help create a dynamic and welcoming outdoor space for the 2012 Green Home set in
Serenbe, Ga. The new Indoor/Outdoor collection will replace Shaw’s current Inside Out collection,
which will officially be discontinued May 4.

The new offerings will be made available at Shaw’s dealer partner locations and at
participating design centers throughout the U.S. and Canada.
