Thomas Industries LLC, formed recently by sponsor JD Ford Holdings Co., Denver along with
co-investors including Jerry Thomas, CEO, Mattel Group, Dalton; and FR Private Equities LLC,
Littleton, Colo. has acquired the assets of two Dalton-based companies: Superior Yarn Technologies
LLC, and Mattel Carpet & Rug Inc., which includes Templeton Carpet Mills. Thomas will
streamline the operations of Mattel, Templeton and Superior, which historically have had shared
ownership, but operated as separate companies; the companies now will operate as separate
divisions.
Thomas will remain CEO of the companies and will retain his management team.
