Precision AirConvey, Newark, Del., has designed a guillotine roll cutter that automatically removes
materials such as film, foil, nonwovens and paper from defective rolls. The OSHA-approved cutter
replaces the manual, razor knife-based removal method, cutting through the material quickly and
cleanly without cutting the core, and allowing the removed material to be reclaimed and the core to
be reused. Safety features include an electrically interlocked surround enclosure and full guarding
around the knife, among others.
