Tokyo-based Teijin Ltd. recently launched Teijinconex® neo, a meta-aramid fiber for protective apparel applications and other heat-proof and flame-retardant performance materials. According to the company, the fiber’s unique production process results in a fiber with superior heat resistance and dyeability.
Teijin reports it will begin production of the fiber mid-2015 at a new facility in Ayutthaya, Thailand, which was designed to comply with REACH and other environmental regulations.
Once the new plant is up and running at full capacity, Teijin will almost double its total global production of meta-aramid fibers.
