FAIRFAX, Va. — August 4, 2016 — X-Rite Inc. has generously donated the i1Pro 2 spectrophotometer to be used in the sold-out Color Management Boot Camp at SGIA Headquarters in Fairfax, Va. The X-Rite i1Pro 2 is the latest donation for the SGIA laboratory, joining donated equipment from Roland, Mutoh, Mimaki, HP and Epson.
“Through our donation to SGIA, we are helping to educate a new generation of print and imaging professionals on the importance of color management and device calibration,” said Liz Quinlisk, Global Marketing Director, Photo & Video, X-Rite Pantone. “The i1Pro 2 plays an important role in ensuring that devices and systems are calibrated and profiled correctly to deliver accurate and consistent color. This means that the color in what is captured on a camera; seen on a monitor; viewed in proofs, prints and presses; or shared online aligns to meet customer expectations.”
Thanks to X-Rite, workshop attendees will get hands-on experience with professional-level devices as they learn color theory and principles, device calibration, color management procedures, the latest print standards and more.
“SGIA’s workshops are an important component to any successful business,” said Ray Weiss, Digital Imaging Specialist, SGIA. “Our hands-on training in color management saves businesses money in production costs and helps to avoid costly reprints. Having top-of-the-line equipment from a leader in the color arena is critical to the success of our workshops.”
