Technical textiles and nonwovens are gaining in importance in the global textile industry. In some advanced countries, technical textiles remain the sole growth driver for local textile manufacturers. For years now, this booming sector has seen double figure growth rates, and the basis for its development has undoubtedly been innovation, which represents the thread that unites textile companies engaged in this niche market with technology providers.

"Italian textile machinery industry is currently highly committed to supporting companies producing technical textiles, and developing new and innovative products" affirms Salmoiraghi, President of ACIMIT. "Versatility and a capacity to rapidly adapt to the market's changing needs have always been a hallmark of Italian technology. This is why Italian businesses will once again be making their mark in Frankfurt this year".
