Santex Group's core business is design and manufacturing of machines for textile finishing, coating and lamination, composites and reinforced plastics. Today it counts four well-known brands: Santex, Cavitec, Sperotto Rimar, and Santex Nonwoven. After the business slump of 2009, Santex Group made an extraordinary comeback in turnover and profits, driven by its prepreg lines for the aerospace industry and by its flagship product, the "Santashrink" knits relax dryer. The Santex Group will introduce three novelties at ITMA:
First a special drying chamber which acts as an energy saving device, while at the same time increasing productivity of new and existing Santex dryers. This "Energy Saving Chamber" intelligently exploits the heat of the exhaust air to provide an extra production capacity of more than 15 percent.
Secondly, a coating and laminating machine which features four different types of coating.The new coating and laminating machine, called "Cavi - 2 - Coat", is Cavitec's latest addition to its already extensive range of hotmelt coating and laminating solutions. A masterfully designed arrangement allows the user to coat films, membranes or textiles with one of the following selectable techniques: Full Coating, Reverse Coating, Thru-Coating, plus the by now traditional Gravure (Dot) Coating.
All these systems apply to hotmelt coating means; as in all Cavitec's products, several configurations are possible: from coating only with small batches to non-stop arrangements capable of coating and laminating.
The third novelty announced by Santex is a continuous two-stage compacting machine which combines the virtues of the rubber belt with the superior handle of the felt shrinking technique. This compactor, already installed and running with a leading customer of Santex's, delivers at high speeds: up to double than those achievable with the felt technology, while maintaining the same residual shrinkage, luster finish and excellent touch of the knits. Its "Cantilever Feeding" device brings the fabrics to the compacting unit, allowing further fine-tuning of the desired shrinkage.
