Frontier Spinning Announces Expansion

Frontier Spinning Mills, Sanford, N.C., will invest $20 million over the next three years to expand one of its facilities in Sanford, creating 42 jobs in the process.

Frontier was established in 1996 with the operation of one open-end facility. The company has expanded over the years and now employs more than 1,700 people in wholly owned or joint-venture operations at nine manufacturing plants.

“We are pleased to announce plans to expand one of our facilities in Sanford and Lee County,” said George Perkins, CEO, Frontier Spinning Mills. “The state and local communities have been very supportive of our company and its growth throughout the years. This support has helped Frontier make investments and create jobs that have been so meaningful to this area and across the state. Our company’s success is also a tribute to its valued employees and customers.”

The company received a $40,000 One North Carolina Fund matching grant to assist it in its expansion efforts. Other partners include the NC Department of Commerce, Lee County and the City of Sanford.
