Ahlstrom Invests In New Needlepunch Line
Finland-based Ahlstrom Corp. has invested 8 million euros (US$10.8 million) in a new needlepunch
line for its North American filtration operations. The line, expected to be complete by early 2008,
will be located at Ahlstroms Darlington, S.C., facility, where it will be used to manufacture a
complete range of needlepunched fabrics for the high-temperature dust filtration market.
"This new investment for dust filtration, in combination with the announcement in February of a new line for air filtration, should serve as a strong commitment to North American customers that Ahlstrom intends to support growth in the filtration markets," said Jukka Moisio, president and CEO. Ahlstroms filtration business, which operates 13 production sites on four continents manufactures filtration materials used in transportation, liquid and air applications.
