SmartSilver™ Technology Selected For Apparel Lines

Milwaukee-based Apparel manufacturer Reliable of Milwaukee will incorporate SmartSilver™ anti-odor, antimicrobial protection technology from NanoHorizons Inc., State College, Pa., into its footwear, hunting and outdoor product lines. The products are expected to be available in fall 2007.

“The nanotechnology harnessed by NanoHorizons in its SmartSilver product will enable us to cost-effectively add permanent antimicrobial protection to a wide range of our products,” said John Johnson, senior vice president, Reliable of Milwaukee. “SmartSilver was the ideal choice for us. The technology offers the anti-odor benefits that our customers want without any limitations on fiber type and none of the manufacturing or durability issues that other choices presented.”

In other news, the Turtle Fur Group, a producer of apparel for cold-weather recreations and sports based in Morrisville, Vt., has announced it will incorporate SmartSilver into its winter gear lines. Initial Turtle Fur® products will include hats, neck gators and balaclavas.
