Velcro USA, AccuMed Technologies Collaborate

Manchester, N.H.-based Velcro USA Inc. and Buffalo, N.Y.-based AccuMed Technologies Inc. have signed an agreement under which AccuMeds patented Breathe-O-Prene® materials will be used in Velcro USAs product line of hook and loop fasteners for medical, military, safety, and industrial applications. According to the companies, Breathe-O-Prene - a breathable, moisture-wicking material that features an open-cell construction - is considered an alternative to neoprene and latex.

"Breathe-O-Prene brand materials and Velcro brand products offer an innovative solution to companies seeking to improve comfort, ease of use and durability," said Joan Cullinane, vice president, Velcro USA.
