Performance Fibers Closes Invista Polyester Deal

Richmond, Va.-based Performance Fibers Holdings Inc. has completed its acquisition of the European polyester yarn business of Germany-based Invista Resins & Fibers GmbH. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

The acquisition includes three Germany-based manufacturing operations that produce specialty and industrial fibers such as polyester filament yarn for industrial, commercial and consumer sewing thread, and specialty end-use applications. The acquisition also will provide Performance Fibers with enhanced research and development and technical capabilities, expanded customer service, and improved sourcing and delivery flexibility.

“The acquisition will enable Performance Fibers to provide customers with an expanded breadth of high-quality products, including a range of low-denier and high-denier industrial fibers for sewing thread and technical fabrics used in hoses, safety belts, webbing, slings, filtration fabrics and rope, among other end-uses,” said Gregory S. Rogowski, president and CEO, Performance Fibers.
