Wellstone Mills Takes Over RutterRex Assets

Greenville-based yarn, apparel and geotextile maker Wellstone Mills LLC, through its subsidiary Wellstone Apparel LLC, has purchased all of New Orleans-based RutterRex Inc.’s assets for an undisclosed price. Wellstone Apparel now operates the uniform manufacturer’s Mississippi plants in Columbia and Tylertown, which have about 400 employees.

As a result of the sale, Peter Culbertson and Dave Donaldson, former RutterRex executives, have been appointed president and CFO, respectively, of Wellstone Apparel.

“This [acquisition] significantly enhances our ability to meet the growing needs of our uniform customers in both government and commercial markets,” said Josh Hamilton, president, Wellstone Mills. RutterRex formerly provided services for Wellstone’s Army contract.
