Saurer Acquires Gurit-Heberlein Fiber Business
Switzerland-based Saurer AG has purchased Switzerland-based Gurit-Heberlein AG's fiber technology
business. The companies recently received approval from the Swiss Monopolies Commission. The
selling price was not disclosed.
Gurit-Heberlein will focus on its advanced composites business.
As a result of the acquisition, man-made yarn machinery components producers Heberlein Faser-technologie AG and Electrotex AG, both based in Switzerland, and Germany-based Enka technica, along with certain real estate property and patent brands, will become part of Saurer's independent components business. The components division will run parallel to the company's Germany-based textile machinery components maker TEXParts GmbH.
