RadiciSpandex Ramps Up S-17PC Output

RadiciSpandex Corp., Gastonia, N.C., has expanded production of type S-17PC spandex at its Tuscaloosa, Ala., plant. The fiber is designed for use in nonwoven disposable diapers, other personal care products and medical garments.

RadiciSpandex has updated the spinning equipment at the Tuscaloosa plant. The company reports the new machinery installation has improved fiber strength and robustness, as well as performance and yields.

S-17PC contains no surface contaminants, is compatible with all hot-melt compounds and applicators and is OekoTex-certified. RadiciSpandex packages the fiber on large spools without factory splices, which aids in avoiding yarn tangles and knots.
