UPS Offers On-Line Trade Management Tool

Atlanta-based shipping and logistics services supplier UPS has added two on-line services to assist customers with their customs clearance processes for package shipments.

UPS TradeAbility™ assists international shippers with identification of tariff codes used to determine customs duties for specific countries; generate duty, tax and transportation cost estimates; and find compliance information for 34 countries. It is available on www.UPS.com, or the customer may use Web Services technology to integrate the tool into business applications or a website.

UPS has enhanced its Quantum ViewSM Manage package visibility service to assist importers with customs clearance for shipments into countries, audits of cleared shipments to assure correct classification, and electronic archival of shipment data. The tool now is available in 22 countries including the United States.
