Lectra Acquires Humantec

Paris-based Lectra — a provider of software and hardware used in the fashion and apparel, luggage and leather goods, furniture and furnishings, automotive and aerospace sectors, among others — has acquired Germany-based Humantec Industriesysteme GmbH — a provider of cutting systems, primarily including leather-cutting systems, used in the automotive seating and interiors, furniture and furnishings, and industrial textiles sectors.

The acquisition includes Charlotte-based Humantec Systems Inc. Humantec employs 70 people in Germany, Slovakia and the United States; and reported revenues in 2003 of 9 million euros.
