At its recent annual meeting, the National Cotton Council (NCC), Memphis, Tenn., elected Woods Eastland chairman. The council presented the 2005 Harry S. Baker Distinguished Service Award for Cotton to Charles Stenholm , and honored the late James E. “Jim” Echols with the 2005 Oscar Johnston Lifetime Achievement Award. Cotton Council International, the export promotions unit of NCC, recently elected Gary W. Taylor president.
