ARclad® Tapes Develops New Splicing Solutions

Glen Rock, Pa.-based Adhesive Research Inc. now offers two non-repulpable ARclad® splicing tapes for high heat/high tack applications using substrates such as fabrics, nonwovens, laminates, composite materials and fiberglass mats, among others. The tapes contain the modified acrylic adhesive AS-159, which has high visibility and offers greater thermal stability, adhesion and shear strength properties than conventional acrylic splicing tapes. The line includes ARclad 9550 a 5-mil, single-faced tape for single- and double-butt splicing applications, and for automated and safety splices; and ARclad 9560 a 5.5-mil double-faced tape for manual overlap and automated splicing applications.
