Material World NY To Debut In September

Atlanta-based Urban Expositions and the Arlington, Va.-based American Apparel and Footwear Association have announced they will launch a fall edition of Material World, to be held September 28-30 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City.

"The industry has been asking for a New York event that truly puts fabric and sourcing first, and Material World New York will accomplish this," said Tim von Gal, executive vice president of Urban Expositions, producer and manager of the show. "[W]e plan to create a unique event that fills a void in the New York marketplace by bringing together the very best in trend forecasting and the widest possible international representation of fabric and sourcing resources."

The Miami Beach spring event will continue to highlight spring and summer fabrics and sourcing, and will continue to run concurrently with Technology Solutions, the sewn products industry conference for information technology. Material World New York will present fall and winter fabrics and services, as well as a home furnishings showcase. It also will offer educational programming resources and trend pavilions. More than 400 companies are expected to exhibit this fall.
