Monarch Knitting Acquires Trustfin

Monarch Knitting Machinery Corp., Glendale, N.Y., through its subsidiary Monarch Machinery LLC, has acquired Czech Republic-based Trustfin a.s. Trustfin is owner of Uniplet, a Czech Republic-based hosiery knitting machinery manufacturer, and the Charlotte seamless knitting machinery line.

In 2000, Monarch and Trustfin/Uniplet formed a joint venture to manufacture seamless body-size machinery. With the acquisition, Bruce Pernick, Monarchs president, anticipates a synergy will develop between Monarch's Vanguard Division, which produces large-diameter circular knitting machines, and Uniplet. Citing Trustfin's high level of technology, Pernick said, "Customers that use Uniplet's sock machine have told me its the best sock machine in the market today."
