Lawson-Hemphill Releases Friction Meter Software
Lawson-Hemphill Inc., Central Falls, R.I., has introduced Windows® XP-compatible software for use with its handheld LH-604 digital friction meter. The cost-effective LH-604, which can be used with a laptop computer via a USB connector, is designed for use by manufacturers of any type of yarn, as well as by knitters, according to Richard Brakenwagen, vice president, international sales. An optional stand and yarn transport allow it to be used as a laboratory unit.
When used with the new software, the ASTM D3108-compliant user-friendly LH-604 friction meter is the only handheld friction meter available that can provide a statistical report, according to the company. It also offers one-button transfer of information to Excel or comma separated value (CSV) files.
