Phoenix Automation Unveils VECS 3000 Rug Sewing System

Phoenix Automation Inc., Norcross, Ga., has introduced the Vision Edge Control System (VECS) 3000 rug sewing system to whipstitch, overedge, serge and bind area rugs ranging in size from 17 inches by 24 inches to 40 inches by 62 inches. Processing up to three rugs per minute, the system uses vision technology to measure exterior dimensions and angles, allowing the processing of non-square rug product. Rugs are bound using sonic sealing to prevent unraveling at the sew-off point. The easy-to-load system permits one operator to run multiple machines simultaneously, according to the company. Rugs can be loaded manually, or the system can be configured for automated loading from Phoenix Automation's VECS 2000 Cut-to-Length system.
