X-Rite Offers VeriColor™ For Assembly Sorting Functions

England-based X-Rite Ltd.'s VeriColor high-resolution color verification and identification system is designed to reduce color errors in assembly and sorting operations. Targeted to Tier One suppliers to automotive original equipment manufacturers that use in-line vehicle sequencing assembly procedures, the system uses non-contact industrial color sensors and laboratory-grade spectrophotometers to provide color measurement accuracy and repeatability, according to X-Rite.

Non-contact measurement is possible because, unlike laboratory-grade spectrophotometers and many industrial color sensors, the VeriColor system is unaffected by ambient light, said Brian Teunis, category director, color and appearance.
