La France Teams Up With Mischen Glabman Group
La France Industries, La France, S.C., a division of Greenville-based Mount Vernon Mills Inc., has
formed a strategic alliance with The Mischen Glabman Group Inc., High Point, N.C., a new company
formed by textile industry veterans Steve Mischen and Thom Glabman with the objective of working
with La France. The partnership is expected to help La France, a manufacturer of automotive and
upholstery fabrics, re-enter the residential upholstery market, which it exited in 1997.
"With our re-entry into this market, La France will offer a total array of upholstery fabrics," said Charles L. Little, president, La France. "We look forward to the rapid development of a significant line of fabrics, as directed by Mischen Glabman with collaboration on design efforts."
The Mischen Glabman Group has named Paulina Muzekari design director. Little noted Muzekaris extensive design experience and her knowledge of computer-aided design systems.
Mischen commented: "Given our groups market knowledge, customer focus and design skills combined with La France's state-of-the-art manufacturing and Mount Vernon's strong financial strength, we are confident that we can deliver a wide variety of top-quality fabrics. "
