Victor, N.Y.-based Industrial Indexing Systems (IIS) has developed the Intelligent Servo Drive (ISD) building block package for custom motion control system design. Designed for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and other large-volume users, this series of hardware and software modules can be integrated into a custom-designed, low-cost motion control system of the OEM’s specification.

 The US Department of Energy (DOE) Steam Program ’s DOE Steam System Assessment Tool (SSAT) is a free, computerized, graphical modeling tool that identifies ways to reduce costs in process steam systems, often resulting in fuel cost savings of 10 to 20 percent. Developed for the DOE by Spirax Sarco Inc., Blythewood, S.C., and Linnhoff March, England, the SSAT establishes steam system models for high, medium and low steam pressure headers.

Wellman Inc. , Charlotte, has announced a 12- to 14-percent price increase for its polyester staple fiber products.

  The Industrial Products Division of Leviton Manufacturing Co. Inc. , Little Neck, N.Y., has upgraded its line of IEC 309-1 and 309-2 PowerSwitch™ Mechanical Interlock devices, which are now available in 20, 30, 60 and 100 Amp non-fused configurations; and 20, 30 and 60 Amp fused configurations. Enhancements include an enclosure design that fits within an I-Beam, and a downward facing receptacle that protects the receptacle-to-plug connection.


Leviton's new PowerSwitch™ Mechanical Interlock devices

MTS Sensors Division of MTS Systems Corp. , Cary, N.C., has launched www.mtssensors.com. The website includes a searchable on-line catalog offering Temposonics position sensor products and accessories, as well as corresponding manuals, CAD drawings and software downloads.

BASF Corp. , Mount Olive, N.J., has announced a 4- to 7-percent price increase for all commercial carpet nylon fiber products, and an 11-percent price increase for all residential bulk continuous filament nylon carpet products.

Sheerweave® 2410 is a new interior sun control fabric from Phifer Wire Products Inc. , Tuscaloosa, Ala. The fabric, made of vinyl-coated fiberglass, is a 3-percent open full basketweave available in nine colors, and in 63- and 98-inch widths.

KoSa , Houston, has increased the price of polyester textile filament by 10 cents per pound.
