Santex Celebrates 20 Years In Business

Santex AG, Switzerland, recently celebrated its 20th anniversary in business. The company has spent the past 20 years developing low-shrink knitwear finishing technologies, such as the Santashrink tensionless shrinkage and relaxation drier. Today, more than 900 Santashrinks are operating globally.According to Santex, the past two decades have been a period of successful plant expansion, and company mergers and acquisitions. For example, American Santex, Spartanburg, was founded in 1986. The company acquired Jasatech AG, Switzerland, in 1989, and founded Germany-based Thermtech Heizungstechnik GmbH in 1992.

Santex has developed knitwear finishing technology used in applications such as sportswear. In the mid-90s, Cavitec AG, Switzerland, was created when Santex acquired and then merged Caratsch Maschinenbau AG and Villars AG. The Santex Group reached another milestone when it merged with Sperotto Rimar S.p.A., Italy, in 2000.
