Jimtex Offers In-House Plying

Philadelphia-based Jimtex Yarns has expanded the plying capabilities at its Lincolnton, Ga., plant and now offers in-house plying. The company stocks more than 50 colors in its US warehouse and reports it is able to ply multiple finer counts to achieve, for example, a unique depth of color in yarns suitable for both hosiery and sweaters.

"We're increasing our lines to include more colors that appeal to women and children softer, more subtle hues," said Harry Matusow, marketing director. "We are positioning our lines and our delivery time to be responsive to our clients, and developing markets and trends."

The company reports it has shortened the time between order placement and delivery of its yarns, often to within the same week.

"Our US location takes the anxiety of overseas deliveries and currency fluctuations out of the equation," Matusow said.
