Hot Tools Presents Hot Knife For Carpet Cutting

Marblehead, Mass.-based Hot Tools offers the electric HK-60 Hot Knife for cutting outdoor carpeting. The knife, which heats up to 1,050°F in less than two minutes, cuts the carpet without using a blade and melts the edges, which prevents fraying.

The HK-60 comes equipped with a resharpenable double-edged tip that cuts and seals at the same time. It also is suitable for cutting sailcloth, belting, gaskets and other man-made materials; and also can be used as a heavy-duty soldering iron. It is safer than razor blades, knives or scissors, according to Hot Tools.
