Unifi Introduces New Yarns

Unifi Introduces New YarnsUnifi, Greensboro, N.C., introduced several new yarns at Expofil, held recently in Paris.A modified Augusta yarn amplifies the softness and hand of the original Augusta, a man-made alternative to cotton. Knit fabrics from Flexistyle/Penn Nyla combining Augusta and Unifis Sorbtek moisture-management yarn are used in polo and golf shirts. A blend of Augusta and Unifis Merano melange yarn is used in a woven suiting fabric; and a lightweight, woven outerwear fabric contains MicroVista.Unifi also introduced Reflexx, a polyester yarn that provides up to 25-percent stretch, for use in apparel, home furnishings and automotive upholstery.January 2002
